"I think I should get a commission for all the Carbon Z Poles that I told to people who got them afterwards. I've been using these poles for maybe 14 years. I had to get another, as I lost one of my first pair. These are the lightest, smallest poles I've found. I'm mildly visually impaired and they have given me freedom to hike on any trails. I've used them on the Nakasendo trail from Kyoto to Tokyo, Camino France for 500 miles in Spain, Kumano Kodo (mountainous Japan), Portuguese Camino (400 mi), Shikoku Island (Japan) and trails at home. The tips can be changed when worn out. A bit more than 9 oz for the pair and folds to fit in small backpacks. Being carbon fiber makes it easy at the airport. Other hikers taking the plane out of Santiago had to check in their poles. Mine were folded in my backpack and being carbon fiber passed through x-ray. Being visually impaired, it helps me when visiting new cities (I use one pole, keeps my posture up and looking ahead while feeling dips in the streets), gives other people a heads up that I have some vision issues. I've shared it with other visually impaired and they love it. The white cane made them feel "disabled". The trek poles made them feel like sportsters. I teach a couple of Tai Chi classes and recommend them for people with posture and balance problems and they love them. It makes them feel more secure that they will not fall. At crowded political rallies I use one pole to hold my protest sign and the other to make it through the crowds. I keep a second pair in case I need them and also have used them to lend to others to test out. My husband is not visually impaired but likes them to keep hands up at the end of the day so blood doesn't make hands expand. We also feel it helps us eke out a few more miles/kilometers at the end of the day when needed."
"This is second pair of women's distance carbon zero poles. Old ones stopped extending and couldn't be repaired. These are much lighter, pretty shade of blue, fold up to fit in day pack or carry on and have a different locking mechanism that I hope will last longer."
