"I just took the Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles on a long backpacking trip through the Trinity Alps—over 25 miles with more than 7,000 feet of elevation gain. They were sturdy, lightweight, and exceptionally well built, giving me confidence on steep climbs, rough trail, and long descents. By the end of the trip, I honestly couldn’t imagine having done the trek without them. Excellent poles for demanding backcountry travel."
"I just finished a 9-day hut-to-hut hike in the Alps and these poles performed flawlessly through every type of terrain. Easy to adjust, super comfortable grips even on long, hot days, rugged, sturdy and light enough for trail running. Note: Some airlines do not allow trekking poles in carry-on luggage. I bought these at a place that sells confiscated carry-on items -- for $30! -- and they looked brand new! Huge, huge improvement over the brand X poles I bought off Amazon."
"Did a quick 1000m summit circuit recently to test them out before a proper expedition. Love the grips, the feel, the light weight. the adjustment ferrules are my favourite but with extra pressure they don't hold their position. Not sure if i can adjust this myself but ill try."
"I love the poles, the cork grips, the rigidity/sturdiness of the carbon. . . all great. I am not in love with the flick lock adjustment. More specifically the need for a special hex/allen tool to adjust them should they start to slip. The Pursuit poles come with that hex bit stored in one of the pole sections, the Alpine Carbon do not. Why drop the ball on a more expensive set of poles that require an extra tool to be carried "just in case?" From what I can gather online is that older Alpine Carbon poles came with that small bit stowed in a pole section. The new ones just come with an "L" shaped Allen wrench taped to the instruction booklet. My older set of Black Diamond Trail Pro poles have flick locks that are adjusted with a small slotted screwdriver. Even better, as I always have a small Swiss army knife in my pack that has a small flat screwdriver blade. The hex/allen screw adjustment seems like a step backward. One more thing to note: Due to the taper of the lower section of the Alpine Carbon poles, when fully collapsed for stowing, the flick lock will not lock the lower section in place and allows it to slide in and out a couple inches. Not a huge deal to me and the way I use them, but worth noting."
"I’ve used these poles for a complete thru-hike of the PCT, and they’re still the poles I grab for every backpacking trip. They’ve held up incredibly well and have proven themselves to be both lightweight and durable. They even survived a deer attack in Northern California. I woke up in the middle of the night to a buck snacking on my pole strap. By morning, I found the pole about 20 yards from my tent. After a quick scrub in the river, it was good as new minus a mangled strap! If I could rate these higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would. These poles have been through thousands of miles with me and I wouldn't be surprised if they last a few thousand more."

"These poles have been tested where it counts. I used them training in Southern California before taking them to the Bhutanese Himalayas, where they were essential for crossing the 16,000-foot Bhonte-La pass. Lightweight, durable, and comfortable even after hours of hard use on steep, rocky terrain — they perform exactly as advertised. This is actually my second pair: my first was lost by FedEx during international shipment, forcing me to cancel an entire trek. I didn't hesitate to replace them. That says everything."
"I used these poles on my most recent summit of Mt Baker where they saved me from slipping/falling numerous times. I am very impressed with the build quality. The carbon is very strong, and the snaps feel well built. The importance of trekking poles cannot be understated when navigating rough terrain or while carrying a heavy backpack for additional touch points on the trail for stability. These poles have worked well for me on normal dirt, rocks, snow, and ice. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is to include snow baskets, as many other trekking poles made by Black Diamond include these normally and these are their top tier model so it seem appropriate. I would absolutely recommend these!"
"Pole height started to slip after less than 3 days of use, and they don’t include the 1. 5mm hex key you need to tighten it. Apparently the used to in older models but I guess they decided to cut costs."
