Information for California Customers
Effective January 1, 2026, products sold in California containing an embedded battery are required to pay a Covered Battery-Embedded Product Recycling Fee mandated by Senate Bill 1215. A covered battery-embedded product is defined as a “product containing a
battery from which the battery is not designed to be easily removed from the product by the user of the product with no more than commonly used household tools.” Cal. Pub. Res. Code § 42463(f)(1). Please refer to the list of covered battery embedded products.
Recycling Fee Responsibilities
The recycling fee will be collected at the time of purchase for California customers only. The fee is set by CalRecycle and can be adjusted annually.
