Il y a un incroyable pouvoir de guérison en plein air, surtout pour les membres de la communauté BIPOC. L'héritage de ces communautés représente une connexion directe à la terre, et Black Outside, Inc. s'efforce de reconnecter les jeunes à leurs racines et aux espaces extérieurs.

L'une de leurs initiatives est The Bloom Project, qui travaille avec des jeunes directement touchés par l'incarcération pour créer des expériences centrées sur la guérison. Lors d'une retraite récente du Bloom Project, les directeurs de Black Outside ont intégré une randonnée nocturne à leur programme.

Ki’Amber Thompson, directrice du projet Bloom, explique : « il y a un lien avec l'histoire de nos ancêtres, ceux qui parcouraient la nuit à pied et voyageaient pour fuir les conditions de l'esclavage, et qui pourraient avoir utilisé les étoiles comme guides. »

Suis Black Outside alors qu'ils honorent cette histoire avec le Bloom Project et créent une expérience inoubliable pour la communauté BIPOC.
