Versatile burly but still "alpine light".

"Just guided the NF bypass of Athabasca in very wintery conditions, relative for late June up in Canada. The tool prooved great for chopping steps in the morning while trying to avoid a transition putting on crampons. The additional pommel was great for climbing lower angle snow, the movable lower pommel, stores quickly giving the user better plunging ability. On rock the tool felt reliable and the blade (stock ice blade) burly enough to sustain a few pounded in placements, when you take your other tool to litterally pound your tool into a crack or into frozen misc. substances. Lovely tool, I'll likely purchase its companion hammer in the weeks to come, my other chosen tool for this trip was the hydra with spike and alpine hammer."

Great Alpine Tool

"I've used the hydras for over a season and had really high hopes for these and they did not disappoint. I took them up the North Ridge of Mount Baker and they did everything you would want from a tool in that environment, they pioleted well in snow, they pounded pickets well, they climbed ice well, and the swing from my hydras translated really well and I got great sticks. There's zero flex in these and they inspire total confidence in committing terrain."
