La Storm 450 est conçue pour toute sortie en toutes conditions. Elle est dotée d’un boîtier robuste étanche et résistant à la poussière et d’une puissance importante de 450 lumens. La lampe Storm peut être alimentée de deux façons, soit par batterie rechargeable BD 1500 Li-ion soit par trois piles standard AAA. Elle dispose d’un bloc optique compact et ergonomique et d’une interface utilisateur actualisée qui inclut un second interrupteur pour une sélection des modes facilitée. Le bloc optique actualisé procure une puissance accrue. L’indicateur à 3 leds et 6 réglages permettent aussi de mieux gérer l’autonomie de la frontale. La Storm 450 propose trois modes de vision nocturne de couleur différente et un éclairage blanc de courte portée pour des activités de proximité telles que le choix minutieux des accessoires pour réaliser la longueur finale en nocturne. Cette lampe frontale est dotée de notre fonction Mémoire d’intensité qui permet de mémoriser le dernier réglage d’intensité utilisé sans repasser par un cycle complet d’éclairage. La technologie PowerTap de la Storm 450 permet d’accéder au réglage d’intensité maximal d’un simple tapotement de doigt.

Fussy and Prone to Failure.

"I had high hopes for my Storm 450, but almost immediately it started exhibiting frustratingly strange behavior. The "Power Touch" sensor on the side of the light was difficult to actuate when wanted. However, it was prone to activating on and off continuously for no reason when it was not wanted. Eventually the light itself would not operate correctly at all. When I put new batteries in, only the small white and RGB lights would operate for a few seconds then die completely. I definitely did not get my money's worth and now own a very expensive bit of toxic landfill."

Amazing Headlamp

"The Storm 450 Headlamp is awesome. This headlamp is the BEST headlamp I've ever purchased. I work a lot of military contract jobs. The light is amazing in all modes. The large white light is very bright at night. Rub the side and the second white light comes on. The two white lights illuminate a large area. It's great that it stays on the last mode you were on, comes in really handy depending on the situation. It's really nice that you can lock it during the day and not worry about the light accidentally coming on and burning your batteries up. I've used many headlamps over the past 40 years; this is definitely top of the line. Worth every penny."

My new favorite headlamp and I have a lot of them.

"I am really picky about headlamps, it can be really hard to find a nice one. So many have one great feature but then other features are terrible not the storm 450 (or 500 have both). I wanted a headlamp with red, green, and blue light that were adjustable and that was hard to find until the storm series. The spot light and separate area light are very useful when fishing and kayaking. I find the green is great for doing things at night. While red may preserve your night vision I have trouble seeing fine detail (like tying knots) without cranking its brightness so high night vision gone anyway but green is perfect. I also bought the battery packs and take AAA batteries as emergency backup which is nice option to have for long trips where can not recharge from outlets."

"Exactly what you want. Only callout is it doesn’t come with the rechargeable battery/charger, but it’s worth the buy. Run the rechargeable battery and if it dies, have some batteries on hand. Never in the dark! Will always have one or two of these in a pack."

So bright

"Bought this for ski patrolling to replace my Spot, which will go in my hiking bag. Super bright and green/red lights for nighttime operations. The water resistance is nice but I hope I never drop it in a creek. I haven't been able to use it on the mountain yet, given it is June, but this looks like a burlier Spot and I loved using the spot at work."

Exactly what I want. . 1 issue that was resolved

"I don't use any other headlamp than BD for a reason. Dual power(rechargeable or AAA) I've used them as emergency tail light on a dark bike ride along a freeway. Powder button is lockable, you know the specs. . THE ISSUE. . . When I first brought this home and installed batteries, I closed the plastic clip that holds the battery cover in place. . . snapped. I jumped as did my dog. I emailed the company and they replied back same day. There was an issue with the back cover that went out before it could be replaced so they were aware of the issue and asked for my address where a replacement could be sent. . no receipts or warranty forms to fill out it was 1 email and the part was in the mail. . they handled an issue incredibly well and I will be a customer for life. I had the new part within a week."

Better options exist

"I’ve owned 4 storms, had minor issues over the years. Had to replace one entirely but felt like I got enough use. Let me tell you, buying any BD headlamp is a waste of money. The battery life is terrible with AAA, spend a little more and get a PEAX or Fenix. Most of those lights are 1000+ lumens and the run times are substantially longer while arguably being more durable. Once I get through the black diamonds I have I won’t be replacing them."
