Everything a little off.

"The construction is great, but everything is just a little off. The hip belt has a sort of awkward extension of the mesh side pocket that’s hard to reach and doesn’t seem deep enough to serve much purpose. I’d have brought true pockets or pouches further around the hip belt to make them really useful or just dispensed with the hip belt altogether. It’s a pretty small pack so if you’re not putting useful access there it feels superfluous. The shoulder straps were comfortable enough, but the Z pole carry loops were only on one side where there was a zip pocket that appeared to be sized for a very small cellular phone. My iPhone wasn’t close to fitting. I’d have either made this pocket big enough for a phone or just made it a second water sleeve for a soft flask. The pack part was fine. For the water bladder it seems as though that was meant to slip in right between the mesh that sits on your back and the bag. So it’s going to get extra hot and make my back extra wet. High hopes but this just doesn’t feel like a well thought out pack."

Disappointing “upgrade”

"Having tried the previous version, I had to return the “updated” version for the previous model. The things they got right about this bag is that the shell is thicker, the back panel is a fantastic upgrade, and the z-pole storage is great. They also added a built in rain cover and a small pocket on the inside for your keys and wallet. The obvious difference is the removal of the hip belt in replacement of a thin band that frankly does nothing. This was fine and it wouldn’t have been an issue for me personally, except for the fact that the bag now digs into my lumbar spine making it uncomfortable. The collars also dig into my shoulders. Overall, the bag is less comfortable and not one that I would want to wear for hours. IMO, the removal of the oversized hip belt was a mistake. It was what set this bag apart and made it unique compared to other bags of its size. Now it’s just a variant of the distance bag and seems rather pointless. I returned this bag and decided to order the previous model prior to them running out. This new model is overall a downgrade, baring the thicker shell and improved back panel."
