"Love the function and brightness of this light. It will light up the entire trail. However, I hope the next iteration has a few small improvements. 1. I hate that you can’t charge the battery unless it’s connected to the headlamp. On long nights it would be great to swap out batteries and be able to charge the one you just used while the backup was powering the headlamp. It’s great to have a backup battery but stinks you can’t charge it unless it’s on the light. 2. The charging port needs a dust cover. Mine gets grit / dust in it quite often and has to be cleaned out. Other than that it’s well build like most BD products."

"I've had two of these fail on me. First one, the lens spontaneously cracked. Second one, battery died permanently (was near fully charged at the time, in use on a mountain, and just suddenly went dark). That's two more failures than I ever want to see in a critical piece of safety equipment. My 15 year old Black Diamond headlamps are still going strong. Quality has slipped since then."
