As a Nordic ski racer,

"As a Nordic ski racer, I’m a little snobby about poles – these were given to me as a gift and I already had the collapsible version. Despite myself, I really like these. Super light, both overall and swing weight, comfortable straps that don’t weigh much and the solid construction actually makes them feel a lot more positive than the collapsible version."

Super light. Uncomplicated

"Strsight, simple, super light!"

"105 CM. Glad for the shorter option for this 6' tall runner."

Changing Tips

"The carbon running poles are very lightweight, but I have yet to use them b/c I’m having trouble changing the tips. I’ve seen a YouTube video someone posted, but I don’t have one of the required tools (I only have the pliers). I really want to change the tips out so I can use them. Grrrr… I suppose they will be just as good as the other Black Diamond poles that I have (carbon distance z), which are great."

These poles are perfect if

"These poles are perfect if you are looking for fixed length poles. They are super light as described."

Can't adjust the straps.

"Love the light weight of these poles. They are my go to poles now. However the straps won't stay adjusted. As you use the poles the (very) light weight straps will loosen. This is something you would expect. Try to tighten the strap tab and it slides right back. You still have the same loose fitting strap The only way I've found to keep the strap adjustment I like is get out needle and thread and stitch the strap tab in place. That means I've had to get another pair of poles and adjust (stitch) the straps for a thicker gloved hand. I believe Black Diamond could do better."

THE lightest trekking poles in the world!

"I’ve been using the BD Alpine Cork Carbon poles for a year and have loved them. Very thick and sturdy and quite light. Just over a Lb. For the pair. I have carpal tunnel and use poles so I’ve been thinking about getting a new pair. Was looking at the Gossamer Gear LT5 poles, but discovered these weighing in at about 6 oz. (For the pair!) They are heavenly:) They are fixed poles and very thin. So delicate? But I’m 160 lbs. and put my full weight on them and straight down they are solid. If I ever get them caught between two rocks they would not fair well I’m sure, but I’m just careful. Thanks, for such an amazingly light set of poles BD!! Greg"

Too Light?

"These are definitely light, but I’ve now broken two poles and a tip during three separate training sessions. The first break was my fault - slipped on a descent and put all my dynamic weight on the pole which ended up snapping in two places. Then, on another run, the tip broke from getting wedged between two roots - which is not uncommon - so I was surprised that this led to breakage. I was able to buy and replace the tip, so I wasn’t that concerned. Then today I stumbled on a fairly flat trail and put a little extra weight on the pole which then snapped. That one really surprised me and made me think that these are just not sturdy enough for me. I’m 6”2, 195lb and was a x-c ski racer, so I’m not a novice with poles. But - maybe I’m just too big for these? Love running with poles and love how light these are - but I’m probably going to have to look at something else, unfortunately."

Awesome poles

"Lightweight, great design. Excited to have these out in the mountauns"

Gift for husband

"Very lightweight. Star off because my brother had bought the same pair without asking me first and had to return and it’s $50 for return shipping, ouch! Only buy if you know 100% you will keep, otherwise look for a pair at REI."
