"This is a nice little lantern. I ski into some back country huts that have no lighting so these do a nice job of throwing light at a fraction of the weight of a propane or butane lantern. They can also charge your devices in a pinch."

"I ordered 2 (1 blue and 1 red) - I love them absolutely. They are the best convenience for camping / backpacking trips in group. Though it’s probably a bit extra weight if you are backpacking alone etc. , maybe go with the Mojo. But the Apollo lanterns have it all for backpacking groups that wants some entertainment at night!"

"I know this quite possibly not fit in with all the elite BD athletes but my wife and I have acreage off grid that we power with solar. We, unfortunately, got vandalized and were left with no overhead lights. This lamp was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING for 3 days!! I am NOW looking forward to utilizing it for my summer backpacking treks!! "Was on sale over Christmas so I bought several as gifts & one for myself. After Christmas, tried mine out. No USB cord included. Went to local Walmart, no USB-A to USB-A cords, apparently they’re “old” now so had to order off Amazon. Once cord arrived, unit won’t charge past 1 of 3 lights. Run time on rechargeable battery (one of the main reasons I purchased) is only a few minutes. Suspecting old stock with old internal batteries, hence the $ markdown. On AA’s, works well with good adjustable light output but disappointed in the poor internal battery / rechargeable capability. Feeling bad for those I gifted also, not the Black Diamond quality I expected."

"I have a ton of Black Diamond stuff and love it, so these were kind of a no-brainer when I saw them on closeout and got a bunch of them. The micro USB is a bummer, but I totally get it and I have a bunch of other BD headlamps and stuff that is also micro so nbd. Got one for the wife and daughter to keep in their car too."
