Exact Replacement for Alpine Carbon Cork

"Correct replacement for a damaged lower segment. Product itself is 5 stars however the wait and intermittent availability of these replacement parts is a bit frustrating."

Saved me on Kilimanjaro

"Used this on my trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, on the craziest terrain. At times it even held my weight! It was perfect and I couldn’t have done it without these poles."

Replacement Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Pole Segments

"I love my Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork trekking poles, but I’m pretty tough on them and have destroyed a number of lower segments. I’ve torn off numerous tips and have bent many lower poles. Yes, 100-percent my fault. These replacement segments are well worth the cost, a fraction of a new set of poles. I now carry an extra segment in my backpack."

New life for my old Alpine Carbon poles

"I have owned a pair of Alpine Carbon poles for 10 years. I have replaced worn out tips several times and two broken segments over these years. BD long term support of their products increases their value."

Out with the old

"I purchased ergo cork trail poles in 2018. In 2019 I ran over 1 of the lowers while split boarding through a flat section of a descent. It’s been torched to true, yet gotten bent again over the years. I’ve tried multiple times via customer support and BD retail to find a lower that will fit, with similar experience to another customer review I just read. I’d like to reiterate what he said about Black Diamond customer service and product expertise lacking. I was quickly provided a 40% off code to buy more poles and trash my perfectly good pair that just needs 1 lower. I was really hoping that just providing a simple measurement (11mm diameter pole lower) that I’d be able to get some sort of part number to look for. I just went ahead and ordered this carbon lower S20 because this is the 3rd time I’ve contacted BD customer service and am just ready to do something. It seems the company ethos does not want to keep your poles, that customers already purchased more than 2 years ago, out on the mountain. Sad to experience a great product with poor product support and unhelpful customer service"

Tips hold up well

"I have used my Black Diamond trekking poles for 4000 miles and have replaced these lower sections twice, so plan on them lasting approx 2000 miles."

Lower Replacement Shaft exists but customer service. . . .

"So the quality of the product is, as expected, top. It fits nicely with my Alpine Carbon Cork poles which I have owned for 8 years. The color is matte vs glossy of the original. I could care less. However, the getting of the replacement part is where the story is not so fantastic. I was first informed when I called customer service that my model is no longer made and no parts were available. Well, as I mentioned the color scheme has changed and apparantly the "flick lock" has been redesigned but the shaft is of the same dimensions and materials. Black Diamond customer service was too quick to dismiss my trusty poles as ready for the landfill. I decided maybe other companies would offer replacement parts for their polls and maybe just maybe the parts would fit. There are other companies out there that make it very clear that they have a variety of replacement parts available but none seemed to fit. After a great deal of looking, there were some broken links up on the BD website that offered replacement parts that I eventually found from searching on Google. It was only after I started calling and emailing BD about these broken links that I received emails with yet more non-working links, that I was sure that BD even offered replacement shafts. Finally, customer service actually listened to me and provided functional links from which I was able to place my order for lower replacement shafts. I got two to be on the safe side. Once ordered the parts came ontime. No problems there. It seems like BD sources its customer service out of the country. It also seems like the people one gets to speak with do not know the full line of items nor the functionality of BD's website. Top quality means yes, the equipment but also the ability to provide efficient customer service. Black Diamond is fine with the one and needing improvement with the other."
