I love this quote from the book The Marathon Monks of Mount Hiei (John Stevens): "Learn through the eyes, practice with the feet." These Japanese monks train with extreme rigor and embrace running as a form of spiritual practice. This quote reminds me to be fully present and engaged when I'm out running, to be attentive and curious to my environment, and appreciate the nuances of life unfolding.
