With an upper fabric that consists entirely of our Engineered Knit Technology, the Momentum Lace

provides stretch where you need it, support where it matters and all- around exceptional breathability. We’ve also added a micro-fiber liner to the front of the shoe to minimize stretch and maximize comfort. The Momentum’s durable rubber is unique in that it’s molded—inspired by the way we forge our carabiners—versus cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe’s rubber and rands for durability and comfort. Designed for all-day comfort on moderate routes, boulders or gym sessions, the Momentum features a soft-flex midsole for sensitivity and lace-up adjustability, making it the perfect entry level climbing shoe.

Climb on!

"I am a beginner climber with no prior experience. I needed a shoe I could use inside or outside that was comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time without me learning to hate rock climbing. I also knew I was going to be climbing outside during PNW spring weather, so I wanted to be able to wear a sock with them. I tried on every climbing shoe with a neutral sole I could find. BD was the only one that fit, was comfortable, affordable, and had laces. I've worn it with and without socks comfortably for several hours. I've had people compliment them and ask where I got them. Super happy with these shoes. Thanks, BD!"

Great first pair

"This is my first pair of climbing shoes, they definitely fit a lot better than the rental ones I used previously. I like the adjustability of the laces but I think for comfort in gym climbing I could’ve gone with the Velcro so I could take them on and off faster."

Good shoe for just starting

"Good shoe for just starting out, it works better for the gym but I have used it outside as well."

Maddy S. (4/5)

One shoe fits like a glove, the other, not as much so far.

"I've only worn them once climbing, and the left shoe fits perfectly, but the right shoe was causing a good amount of discomfort. I do love the look of these, and they're certainly an upgrade from rental shoes, but I really hope that it's just a matter of breaking into them."

Perfect basic shoes

"My girlfriend and I just started climbing, and bought a pair each. They are comfortable, affordable; perfect for beginners :)"

new favs!

"always concerned with new climbing shoes on their first climb . . . . these Momentums were great! I am confident and comfortable in the after 6 runs."

Climb on!

"Loved these! As someone who has been climbing in rentals for a year and someone who wants to start climbing more seriously, these are great “starter” shoes. I wear a street shoe size of 9. 5 and my rentals shoe size is an 8 (our rentals are the blue evolves). These were a size 8 and they fit great. They aren’t exactly for comfort but my precision is noticeably better. The laces are a bit short but not a major issue. Overall, a solid 10/10 from me!"

Great beginner shoes

"I loved these shoes when I transitioned from the gym rentals to proper shoes that fit me well. Now that I have a bit more experience under me and I’m well into v5s and v6s indoors and dabbling in outdoor climbing, I find that the lack of downturn does hinder me a bit. They were an excellent beginner shoe and intend on keeping them as backup shoes as long as the rubber is still usable. I would recommend these shoes to any new climber!!"

Return Policy is not parent friendly

"I bought these shoes for my child in college. She received them and tried them on, used them once and realized she needed a bigger size. They will not exchange them without the tags still on them and i just want a bigger size. I'm a little disappointed."

Tabitha M. (2/5)

Great shoes

"I recently got into climbing so I’ve been using rentals at gyms that I go to. The minute I started climbing in my own shoes I felt the difference. I can put all of my weight on smaller footholds with no problem, no more slipping off the wall. They also look sick, so I would definitely recommend."
