Constructed from durable, textured organic cotton with a casual fit, the Ethos gets more comfortable with age. The knit-lined comfort waistband is soft next to skin and can be fine-tuned with a built-in webbing belt. Continuous-seam drop-in front pockets add a touch of flair.
Our organic cotton is certified to come from farms not using synthetic fertilizers, biocides, or GMO seeds. These along with other required better farming practices result in cotton production having a reduced impact on the environment as a result. Organic cotton used in the apparel line is primarily certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).

"i really like enjoy how stretchy and soft these pants are. after some alterations (i took out the bottom hem to make them longer and raised the crotch level) i wear these all the time, everywhere. at first i felt like i was wearing men’s pants, with how low the crotch was and with how poofy the pocket area was. based on my fit preference and usage, i’m much happier with how they fit now. i would have assumed sizing down would make it obsolete, however i still have to shimmy my hips into the large. overall happy with fabric, color (laurel green), and quality. 5’7” 150lbs bought large size."

"These pants are so comfortable. The waistband is soft, and the fabric stretches for lots of range of motion. My only critique might be to allow the rip stop to tighten further. I wore these for traveling as well and the pockets are SO DEEP- finally some women's pants with reasonable pockets."

"The ethos pants are very comfortable, and the material seems very durable. From wearing them casually, to teaching indoor climbing classes, to hiking/scrambling around, they provided for good range of motion and held up (so far!). Some downfalls for me: -The sizing seems to run big. I normally wear a size medium or large in women's pants, and opted for the large in the ethos. Given the straight cut and stretch, I probably could have gone for a medium. -I like the included belt, but given that the waist is already elastic, it seems redundant. -The included belt and wide pant leg (due to my accidental oversizing?) didn't provide for the most comfort when wearing these pants with a harness -Would love the option for cinched bottoms. I'm pretty short so I had to roll the pant legs up so i wouldn't step on them while walking around (or worse - have them get in my way while climbing!). Overall, I would wear these for everyday errands and hiking (on moderate temperature days), but I wouldn't opt for these for a roped climbing day."
"Black Diamond gave me this free product to try. Very comfortable pants, fit true to size. I love the gusseted seat of the pants and the articulated knee — very beneficial when climbing in them! I also appreciate that the fit is not baggy (length) so my pants don’t get in the way when doing delicate footwork on slab climbs! They have a built-in belt which is nice! Both the belt and the pants, themselves, seem really durable! Will definitely be packing these on all future climbing and camping trips!"
"Material: This pant was lighter weight than I had expected and it was incredibly durable, however, it performs like a garment made from a lighter material. I was climbing sharp granite primarily with this pant and was surprised that while my hands and arms got pretty beat up, my legs were nearly untouched. The fit: The fit is a little on the baggy side, I am 5'1" and 110lbs and a small felt a bit loose. The articulations in the knees offer extra flexibility, and I am not sure you would need to size up to get those hand-foot matches. Features: The pockets in the front are a cool idea, and work well while on the ground, but don't really offer access while in a harness. The small back pockets are also a cool feature, and I love the belt and the waistline is nice and high. The narrow cut of the legs keeps them out of the way, even while crack climbing, and the length is perfect. I am a little vain though and I would love a more flattering posterior cut. Activities: I would recommend these pants for hiking, backpacking, or climbing. Because they are pretty light, they are fine for gym climbing too. I spent several hours hiking to crags and one day it exceeded 90 degrees. I was surprised by how cool the fabric was and how quickly it dried.
