When your project is so steep that it always casts a shadow, that's when you bust out these secret weapons. Built for overhanging sport routes and hard bouldering, the Shadow LV features an aggressive, downturned last that's low volume and paired with our molded sticky rubber-inspired by the way we forge our carabiners-and not cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe's rubber and rands for weight, consistency and comfort. The Shadow features a stretch resistant microfiber upper, and the shoe's vamp features an innovative combination of printed and molded high friction rubber. The molded rubber is strategically placed in high-use areas, while the printed rubber minimizes bulk, and in combination, these rubbers provide better top of foot dexterity and purchase when toe-hooking. The tongue is made from our Engineered Knit Technology, which is exceptionally breathable and increases mobility and comfort. With a minimalist midsole, the Shadow is ultra-sensitive and allows you to pull in on steep terrain.

Awesome shoes

"Great extreme shoes! They take a while to break in and you might have to use a bag to get them on the first few times but it’s worth it. I got my street shoe size and they are nice and tight. They have amazing grip and I can trust my foot placement. They are quite downturned so toe and heel hooks feel amazing!"

Good shoes but make sure to get right sizing

"I really have enjoyed these shoes and they have already greatly helped my climbing. Definitely make sure the sizing is correct as they do run a bit small but I would only size up 0. 5-1 size up depending on your feet. I wear a street 10. 5 and ordered 11. 5 which fits my feet decently but I still have a bit more room than I want."

Should have researched sizing

"Beautiful shoes that would have been great performance, but were a size small. Should have researched the sizing comparisons against street shoes before buying."

Other reviews mentioning size are off IMO

"I picked up a pair of these because I saw they were really on sale, and wanted to try them. I am measured at a 43. 5 using a foot measuring device (Brannock device) so I know my street size. I went up a full size, and I think it's too loose, worried it might become too baggy and imprecise with stretch. I'd consider the full size up my "comfort size". They are out of stock in my street shoe or half size down, but I guess I'll keep them and train with them in the gym since it's such a good deal. Currently an OK shoe but I think it would be a great shoe if they had my size. For reference I wear 41. 5 solutions, 43 instinct (could go 1/2 size smaller) and 44. 5 in these because it's all they had in stock. I think 43. 5 would be ideal."

Awesome Shoes!

"These shoes are great for indoor and outdoor climbing. They are the stickiest shoes I have ever worn! Take a couple of painful sessions to break in but totally worth it!"

Terrible durability. I do not

"Terrible durability. I do not recommend many black diamond shoes."

Fantastic Bouldering Shoe

"Bought these to replace my Muira VS as my bouldering shoe. So far, they are phenomenal. The rubber is very sticky. The shoe itself is very light and they feel very fast on the feet. However, they are sized quite small. I am a Mens 10. 5, and I bought an 11 and I have had to try every trick in the book to stretch them out to even get them on. Now, after about 10 painful break in sessions, they are starting to feel amazing. Cannot recommend them enough, but make sure you get the right size."

Great Shoe

"Got these so I could have a more aggressive pair and so far they haven’t disappointed. I’m a regular men’s size 10 and went one size up to an 11 and that did the trick. Very snug but they’re starting to stretch nicely to the form of my feet. All in all a solid climbing shoe."
