Thin is good. Wear well.

"I worked on the protos for these a bunch, and have put a lot of days onto the production version. Short story, the less ice a pick displaces the easier it goes in. This pick is a thin weapon for ice, it just goes in so much better than the old ones! Seems to wear well too, no issues. I've used it at -25 in Quebec and for drytooling because I was too lazy to switch picks, works fine there too but the mixed picks are more durable. Remember to file regularly to keep the point sharp, that makes a difference."

Hot forged Natural Ice Picks

"First day out I bent a spanking new pick, just climbing grade 4 water ice. I was hopeful that these would fare better than the laser pick, but I think it's the same, although softer metal vs brittle metal."
