With gear loops big enough to accommodate 15 quickdraws each, you’ll be able to link pitches or climb that 70-meter splitter with gear to spare. Adjustable leg loops and ice clipper slots add versatility for winter pursuits. For long belays or full days on the wall, the Solution Guide provides hanging comfort with our innovative Contour Edge leg loops and waist that maintain rigidity in the center but soften at the edges—a design feature that reduces pressure points and contours to the shape of the body. A seamless Dyneema Infinity Loop for belaying and a rated, easy-to-find rear fifth gear loop finish out the feature set for this all-around climbing staple.

Sizing issues

"New sizing is smaller. I have been a medium in BD harnesses for over 10 years and now the M is too tight. I am a 33" waist so on the cusp of advertised sizing but these are tighter than my older models. I will try the Large. I wish they kept the non adjustable leg loops like the previous model or at least had an option to choose between adjustable or non adjustabel leg loops. There doesnt seem to be much of a difference between the solution and the solution guide besides the adjustable leg loops and ice screw keepers. I will probably end up using the solution as my main harness."

Perfect Harness for Trad Climbing

"Such a great harness, glad that it is back in stock with upgrades. It is comfortable, adjustable and versatile, but the part that I love the most is the rear fifth loop. The larger "regular" gear loops are great for carrying a trad rack and QDs, with the fifth loop perfect for anchor gear or anything less used (gloves, etc). The fifth loop on the new version sits a little higher and is not as wide as the old model, but is still plenty to carry my anchor and some lockers. Sitting higher is probably better to keep stuff out of the way of your chalk bag. Adding the infinity loop for belay is nice, too. It's nice not having the belay locker catching on the stitching any longer. Def recommend this harness!"

"This is my first Black Diamond harness and I was impressed at the comfort with the Solution Guide Harness. I primarily have only used it for indoor sport climbing, but even as the belayer I find it comfortable. Also, the harness feels solid and durable. Great 4-Season Harness

"I bought this to be a good all-arounder. The adjustability is perfect to fit over winter layers, but still good for summer cragging. There is enough padding for long sits in hanging belays on a multipitch, but it doesn't feel bulky on a summit push. There is plenty of storage on the gear loops for more than a full rack, and it is still slim enough for a red-point attempt. BD may have made the perfect high-performance all-purpose harness with this one."
