"Very nice material. Cuffs tidy and snag-free. Comfortable. All BD pants seem to be very short in the inseam - these are no exception. Maybe there's a reason for that that escapes me - not a big deal but definitely limits their utility for any non-climbing wear or activities."

"I’m a professional chef and, after years of buying “chef pants” from restaurant supply websites, I had pretty much accepted that they would only last about a year before the seams failed, the fabric wore thin, or the fit became uncomfortable. While searching online for something different, I happened to come across the Notion Pants. After reading through the features, I decided to give them a try, and they have unintentionally become the best chef pants I’ve ever owned. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable they are. The pants are cotton, which makes them breathable but still flexible enough to move easily during a long shift. In a kitchen you’re constantly bending, crouching, reaching, and moving quickly, and these pants handle that perfectly. Another feature that really stands out in a work environment is the gusseted inseam and articulated knees, which give you excellent freedom of movement without the fabric pulling or restricting you. Durability is another big reason I’m impressed. The reinforced knees add extra toughness in high-wear areas, which is exactly what you need when you’re constantly kneeling to reach lowboy coolers or storage. The elastic waistband is also fantastic for kitchen work. It’s comfortable through a long service and flexible enough that you’re not constantly adjusting your pants throughout the day. Functionally, the pockets are great as well. They include two front hand pockets, a rear pocket, and a zippered side pocket. Ideally, a second back pocket would be a nice addition. While the side pocket is a great idea and will likely fit most phones, my phone doesn’t quite fit, so I haven’t found a specific use for it yet, but the extra storage option is still a nice feature to have. The elastic cuffs at the bottom, which at first, I didn't like the idea of, help keep the pant legs out of the way, which is surprisingly useful in a busy kitchen environment. What started as an experiment has turned into something I now recommend to everyone I work with. Several of my coworkers have commented on the pants during service and asked where I purchased them. Ironically, these weren’t designed as chef pants at all, but they’ve outperformed every pair of “professional chef pants” I’ve owned. If you work in a kitchen and are tired of replacing your work pants every year, I would absolutely recommend giving these a try."
