"This is a great shell. It has been over a decade since the last time I bought a shell for snowboarding, and I am very happy with this one. I am 5'10", 180 lbs, 43" chest, and I got a medium in moonstone. It fits snug but not tight with a base layer, factor bib, and thin fleece underneath, and I have no issues with getting full range of motion."
"very high quality, you can feel it. It doesn't let any air pass through even at high speed in downhill. Bought shell only, layer it up and your convenience, and you'll never get cold or wet. Great product"
"I am 183cm 75kg and the medium fits me well. Similar to the factor bibs, the jacket has a more trim fit which I like. The midnight blue color goes great with the iron red pants (if you prefer some contrast). Both are great understated colors. I really like the fabric which provides good protection but is soft shell and has some flexibility built in. There are a few things keeping me from giving 5 stars though: -I wish the collar/hood had a bit more structure to it and was just a touch tighter fitting to allow you to really hide from the weather (I think Norrona jackets do this the best), but its still pretty good. -Theres is no interior zipper pocket (which I would normally use for my phone). Carrying it in an outer pocket kills the battery on a cold day."
"I really wanted to like this shell but unfortunately the fit did not work for me. I'm 5'10' 180lbs with an 'athletic' build, fairly wide shoulders and chest for my frame. The Factor seems built for tall and slender bodies that also have a beer gut. The mid section is cut with ample room for a belly and the length will be good if you are 6'2" or above. I found the shoulders great but the length too long and the the body too baggy. The fabric seems really nice and the quality is great. I've returned every BD hoody I've ordered in the past few years for the same issue- the front of the collar quickly migrates backwards until its pressing against the front of your neck. Unless it's zipped all of the way up it feels like someone is gently tugging on the hood (with he hood off) causing the front of the collar to press on the front of your neck all the time. The only way to mitigate this is have it zipped all the way up or down to mid chest level or lower. It get very annoying very quick. None of the other reviews mention this so it may be due to the shape of my body."
"Love this shell over the previous shell. I had the BD shell from 2 seasons ago and the only think I didnt like on that was the color scheme (Black and Green) and the ski pass holder was on your left bicep so you had to bend down for us taller guys. I love this new shell but keep in mind that if you are similar to me, I am 6'4, 210lbs with a 40'' chest/athletic build and in the previous model I was a Medium. This jacket I am a large and it fits perfect. I'm always hesitant on spending the money but am glad I did once I'm rocking it."
