Designed for big days in the backcountry, the Dawn Patrol Hybrid Pants combine our protective BD.dry™ laminated waterproof breathable solution with an air permeable softshell fabric in key placements, providing the best of both worlds for an ultra-versatile touring pant.
By utilizing our proprietary BD.dry™ waterproof/breathable solution on key areas that require protection, while featuring a breathable softshell fabric on crucial panels that are prone to overheating, the Dawn Patrol Hybrid Pant brings exactly what you need to a day of touring—uphill performance and freedom, downhill security for getting pitted. Side-zip vents add temperature regulation and two thigh pockets—one being a dedicated pocket for electronics—and a smaller upper right hip pocket allow you to stow backcountry essentials. An integrated RECCO reflector adds to the pants’ snow safety capabilities, while the instep patches guard against ski edges and crampon points. There is a stretch gaiter and the cuffs feature dual snap closures to accommodate both racing and touring boots. The integrated belt provides waist adjustment along with internal loops to allow for suspender compatibility.
Black Diamond’s waterproof/breathable/windproof solution. BD.dry™ 3L face fabrics are treated with a DWR solution without intentionally added PFAS and these fabrics have a hydrophilic membrane that allows water vapor to transfer through, making them waterproof, yet breathable. Applied to the backside of this fabric is a third layer, jersey backer, that feels comfortable next to the skin and allows moisture to turn to vapor before passing through the hydrophilic membrane. "I actually bought the large for these. I am 6', and 175lbs, but with bigger thighs. I normally buy large in all my ski pants. These I would have preferred the medium. The fit is roomy enough, and with no suspenders, they sat too low. Fabric is really nice and light and stretchy."
