Very breathable with great temperature

"Very breathable with great temperature regulation in harsh sun, and surprisingly warm in colder temps as well. The armpit mesh makes a noticeable difference, and the hood is the perfect size for helmet compatibility. Both hoodies I purchased have held up very well regarding durability through 4th class scrambling and 5th class climbing in the Tetons. Would purchase again and recommend to friends, definitely worth the extra buck compared to other alpine sun hoodies."

Favorite sun hoodie

"This is my favorite sun hoodie so far. I’ve tried three other brands (Patagonia, OR and an off brand) and this one beats them all. Good breathability in the armpits and the quarter zip helps shed a lot of heat! The fabric is a little heavier than others that I’ve tried but you can’t win at everything. Price is a bit high but it’s top notch stuff so you pay for what you get."

Exceeded expectations

"Right away I liked the feel of the material. All the stitching was clean and it fit good without being tight or just hanging loose. I've used this on several hikes in Rocky Mountain NP, both in warmer and cooler climate. Wicks away sweat while maintaining good temperature regulation. This would be a solid investment for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. 5'11, 190lbs, Lg."

Best Sunshirt for Climbing

"IMO the best sunshirt on the market for climbing. Nice and cool when hot with underarm vents that work great when doing any high intensity activity. Stretches to move with you while climbing. When doing other activities, the only downside is the hood doesn’t provide a lot of face coverage like most sun shirts but adding a hat fixes all those problems"

Jack (5/5)

Favorite sun shirt

"I have tried numerous sun shirts over the years after finally deciding I was tired of getting burned and/or dealing with sunscreen. These are the lightest I have found while still offering great sun protection. I have gone backpacking for multiple days wearing one in alpine conditions and they have always served me well. Love the vented sides for hiking/climbing on especially hot days. The chest pocket is a small consideration, but nice for stashing an ear bud case or water bottle cap. They are not quite thick enough to keep mosquitoes from biting through. I have treated them with permethrin spray without any degradation or discoloration The price is at the top end of the market, but the three I have are by far my most used shirts during the summertime for any sort of outdoor activity."

Paul T. (5/5)

Perfect sun hoody

"This is my third Alpine Pro Hoody which speaks volumes about it's quality and comfort. I wear it during training and find it's breathable and importantly blocks the sun. The hood fits well over a baseball cap as well"

Matt J. (5/5)

Lux Sun Protection

"The material is light and breathable while protecting the wearer from the sun. I wear the hood over the helmet, and there's no restriction. The sleeves are long enough to fit under cloves for full protection. After a few days in the mountains plus washes, it still feels and smells brand new."

Richard A. (5/5)

Nice feel, looks good, durability tbd

"Like the fit and feel, definitely will breathe well and be versatile in lots of seasons. Within the first wear easily caught on a branch and ripped a bit, so durability is likely the main downside. For this price point would expect it being more robust."

Christopher L. (4/5)

Great colors and quality products

"The Alpenglow pro hoody is hands down my go to backpacking hoody. It’s so breathable and light."

Jimmy F. (5/5)

Great weight, super comfortable

"Just the right weight for an active day. Easy to stuff into a pack because it's so light, but it provides a nice layer of warmth when I'm active and in and out of the shade."
