Durable. All purpose.

"Day 1 I wore this up a hot and grueling climbers' approach trail. Day 2 I wore it crossing glaciers and then as my base layer up the climb. I figured the offwidths and chimneys would shred it but I can't even tell now that I washed it. Great base layer too."

Above Treeline Approved

"This ended up being exactly the piece I needed for summer in the alpine. It’s a great lightweight sun hoodie with UPF 40, which is clutch when you’re exposed above treeline all day. The odor-resistant treatment keeps it from getting funky even when I’m working hard and sweating. Dries fast, layers easily under a shell, and the hood fits clean under a helmet. Simple, functional, and packs down to nothing."

A Perfect Hoody For Sun Protection

"Recently used for an extended hike in the hot sun and this garment performed as desired. I was well protected from the sun and Alpenglow Hoody was very breathable with quick drying. There was no fabric degradation in the areas where my backpack made contact. Very comfortable to wear."

Pretty cool shirt

"I’ve only worn it twice canyoneering in the north wash and it already is stained and abraded. I was hoping for a more durability. Was really comfy and protected from the sun great though"

Best climbing sun protection there is!

"I bought this after trying it on in store. It’s super comfy, breathable, and just feels great when wearing it. It’s abrasion resistant but will get some visible snags if using it regularly while climbing. Nevertheless, I always bring it for sun protection here in central OR, and it never fails to be the most crucial piece of gear. Fits over a helmet and keeps you cool even in direct sun. I’m 5’11, 165 muscular athletic build and a medium fits perfect with a slim-ish fit without too much bagginess."

Alpenglow Hoody

"I’m on my second Alpenglow Hoody and absolutely love them. They’re lightweight, breathable, and the Polygiene technology is one of my favorite features. Even after wearing it for multiple days of backpacking in very hot weather, it doesn’t get stinky. I can’t recommend these enough!"

Gabrielle T. (5/5)

Good midweight sun hoody

"Usage: I primarily use this item for outdoor climbing. I wear this when it's sunny to block the sun during cool weather. The hood was intended to fit under the helmet but I put the hood over the helmet. The underarm gusset helps with mobility and helps it from riding up from my harness. The fabric is medium weight (thicker than the Alpenglow Pro Hoody). I also use this as a mid-layer on colder days. For me, this is too thick for hot days (70 degrees F or hotter) and I recommend the Alpenglow Pro Hoody for hotter days. Fit: I'm 5'7" around 160 lbs, athletic build and medium fits well."

So Light!

"As someone who is super susceptible to sunburn but hates sunscreen, this is the best sun hoodie out there! Super light to keep you cool, with great sun protection!"

Henry T. (5/5)

"I have only wore this once and my black diamond running vest with it and it seems to have ruined the fabric patern where the straps go. Im very disappointed since i love the brand and its not quite cheap to deteriorate after its first use"
