"I really like this hoody - it's incredibly functional. I use it as a mid layer or outer-layer depending on conditions. With proper layering, it keeps me warm below 0 yet functions just fine in 20-30s with just a wool tee. I particularly like the fit - I wear a L and need 35 sleeve length and this works great. Not at all boxy or snug. Loft is ideal and it traps heat well. Small details are a plus for me - construction appears solid and features are everything necessary without overkill. Classic BD, IMO."
"This is one of the nicest jackets I've even put on. This was recommended as a heavyweight layer for Denali, although Black Diamond labels this as Med-weight."
"I shopped around and tried a lot of the big brands—Patagonia, Stio, North Face, Archteryx, Narrona. None of them fit like this one does. It’s slim enough in the waist that you don’t look overfitted and big enough to fit a later underneath. Importantly, the arms are long for taller people. It’s also buttery soft. For reference, I’m 6’3” and 200 lbs."
"Incredibly soft, lightweight, and warm. Perfect for freezing temperatures, blocking a fair amount of high-force wind."
"This is very similar to the OR Transcendent down jacket, however I prefer the outer material, zipper and pockets on this BD. Fit & finish a touch above. If you're looking for great, not good warmth - continue on and get a better fill. I typically layer this with a vest and long sleeve on colder days. A versatile layer, however."
"After over a decade in my last puffy, I was very particular when shopping for a new one. This has not disappointed! Great fit, super light weight, and just the thing for this cold NE winter we're having!"
"I absolutely love the fit & articulation on this in size Large for my long arms & torso (6'2", ~165-170lb, 36" arms, 42" chest, 34" waist). It's super comfy feeling & non-restrictive w/ full coverage of my wrists & waist through full range of motion while fully battened down w/ enough space for the bulkiest mid layers I own. It also fits great under my smaller outer layers. Warmth is about as much as I'd want for anything I'm going to be at least semi active in w/ a decent baselayer under & a shell over the top. Been very comfortable w/ this setup mostly sedentary in -10F w/ 15-20 mph wind, actually sweating a bit when I've had an Alpha120 fleece added in as a mid-layer. Only negative is it seems to be leaking down a bit more than I'd like. I'm hopeful it'll normalize a bit once it loses enough fill, but the face fabric doesn't quite seem up to the task of containing the feather at full fill level at the level I'd hope for."
"Love it, fantastic jacket, got slight size up from normal so it’s baggier and stacks nice over top other layers"
"The jacket is warm but has some flaws that could easily be fixed. The jacket needs a zipper upgrade. The current zipper gets stuck sometimes. I have the Solution 2. 0 and I love that zipper. The other downfall is the jacket is losing feathers."
"Perfect size Large for 6”1 195lbs men"
