"Definitely the most expensive piece of fabric I own, but I wanted an ultralight breathable wind shell, and this fits the bill. I use it trail running and I carry it on longer mountain bike rides. It's also a shell that I will leisure-travel with, and pack into my backpack in case of rain, wind, or chilly temps. I am 6'1" and all of my Black Diamond jackets are solid Medium, but I jumped up to a Large in this jacket, and I'm glad I did. Size up if you want a slightly roomier shell that you can layer underneath."
"I'm not sure it works as it's supposed to, because the inside is wet after a brisk 1-2 mile walk. And I'm wearing wicking tees that are not wet. Seems like the moisture is getting trapped inside the jacket, when I expected it to breath and release out through the jacket."
"Very happy with this minimal shell."
"BD should bring back the zip off/on sleeves and hoodie for the first light 2. 0 and 1. 0"
"This shell is so stinking light and is great for running as well as hiking and skiing. I just used it as a second shell in between my synthetic and down layers all under my skin shell (Alpha SV) and over my base. Was at least -5F and I was toasty even while sitting on the chair."
"Super packable and light emergency layer. Surprisingly warm for the weight"
"mid layer. , breathes well under other layers. Surprisingly water repellent."
"This has been my go-to for light and fast runs. It provides just enough protection from the wind to inspire confidence for those long treks in the mountains without loading down with bulk or weight. I recently took this out for a 40mi ultra marathon through the CO Rockies and was perfect for that. In moderate to heavy rain you will get wet, but it still creates a barrier from the wind and insulates in the heat so even if you do get wet you're warmer than if you didn't have it. 5/5!"
"This is my go-to coat for running and cycling. I had one and left it in a car. Bought another cause I couldnt go without it. Fits great. Packs so slim. Price is outrageous. . . Don't regret but serious hinder."
