A world of pure imagination awaits with the Front Range Golden Carabiner Hunt! Presented by Black Diamond, Neptune Mountaineering, Mountain Chalet, and Bentgate Mountaineering this climbing scavenger hunt will raise funds for the Access Fund, Boulder Climbing Community, and Pike Peak Climbers Alliance. 30 Golden Carabiners will be hidden in the Front range each weekend for you and your partner to find and redeem for Black Diamond prizes! We will finish the series with a big afterparty at Neptune Mountaineering.
Event Registration/Clue sheet donation: $20 per weekend or $60 for the whole series (includes an exclusive T-shirt).
All proceeds will be a donation split to the Access Fund, Boulder Climbing Community, and Pike Peak Climber's Alliance.
WHAT:
A scavenger hunt event, open to all (with clue sheet purchase), where you and your partner have to find the hidden Golden Carabiners located on routes around Front Range. You will be provided with a clue sheet to help you. Solve the clues to unlock the secret location of the golden carabiners. All golden carabiners will be redeemed for prizes at the Final after party at Neptune Mountaineering or the respective shop!

March 28th - Shelf Road (PPCA and Mountain Chalet)

- Check back in at Mountain Chalet if you find a Golden Carabiner!
- March 29- PPCA Stewardship day!
April 5th - Clear Creek (BCC and Bentgate Mountaineering)
- Clue Sheet pick up is at 8a at Bentgate Mountaineering
- Check back in at Bentgate Mountaineering if you find a Golden Carabiner!
- April 4- BCC Stewardship day!
April 11 - Boulder Canyon/Final Party (BCC and Neptune Mountaineering)
- Clue Sheet pick up is at 8a at Neptune Mountaineering
- 5-8p Afterparty begins
- Golden Carabiner redemption for all weekends (5-6p)
- Free food and drink for all event participants (5-8p), Partners tabling, DJ Molten Coore.
- Event announcements and winners pick their prizes! (7p)

WHERE:
Shelf Road, Clear Creek, Boulder Canyon.
Parking at the crags: Please carpool with your partner and follow all parking rules.
WHO:
Open to all, grades will range from 5.6 to 5.12. Teams of two will work best as each carabiner will have a prize for climber and belayer but feel free to climb in whatever group size you prefer. The routes involved will be sport, traditional, and multipitch climbs but you get to decide which routes to go hunting on. Participants should be safe climbers with at least one competent lead climber. Please do NOT participate in the event if you cannot do so safely.
HOW:
Pick up your clue sheet from Mountain Chalet, Bentgate Mountaineering, or Neptune Mountaineering starting at 8am. Use the clues to find the golden Black Diamond carabiners attached to route anchors throughout the respective climbing area (Don’t forget to a picture with a timestamp when you find one)
Return to the respective shop the same day as the hunt or to Neptune Mountaineering between 5-6p on 4/11 to trade in your carabiner for prizes (Only one carabiner per team, per area, please!).
All participants are welcome and invited to the after party at Neptune Mountaineering on 4/11 from 5-8p. Use your clue sheet redeem your free meal and drinks! There will be additional food and beverages for sale.
All are welcome to the after party, even if they did not take part in the scavenger hunt but they must donate to the event.
Any clue sheets purchased the day before the event will need to reach out to Brenna.king@bdel.com with a screen shot of their purchase to receive their clue list or plan on purchasing the morning of the event.
Rules:
- Registration which includes a clue sheet must be purchased by both participants (belayer and climber) to redeem their golden carabiner for prizes. Registration also includes entry to the Afterparty.
- Both Climber and Belayer may redeem their Golden Carabiner for gear at the appropriate shop or the afterparty at Neptune Mountaineering on 4/11 from 5-6p. Only one must be present to collect prizes.
- Each participant pair is only eligible to find one Golden Carabiner each weekend but both participants get a prize.
- Participants MUST take a photo once they find their Golden Carabiner. Carabiners found before 8a on the event date will be disqualified.
- Please practice Leave No Trace, follow parking rules, and always follow area ethics.
