High quality liners
"I primarily use them as part of a layering system for mountaineering, and they serve that purpose well. I normally wear size large gloves, but sized down to a medium as a tighter fitting liner glove will stay put better when frequently removing the outer insulated/waterproof layer. They did well keeping my hands from freezing whenever I had to remove my outer glove to do something requiring more dexterity. Obviously, these aren't water repellant in the least, but they dry out well enough. I got them soaked in the rain on my approach to high camp on Shasta, but after letting them dry out for several hours, they were fine to wear for the summit push at 2 AM despite the humid air. I was pretty pleased with that. Construction seems solid. I associate BD with climbing gear and had doubts about their apparel, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I had Mountain Hardwear liners before these, and they developed a tear around the cuff after a couple uses. I don't see that happening with these. That said, there is no pull loop, which is what seems to break first on gloves. I like to hang gloves from that loop with a carabiner when not in active use, but I suppose the added durability makes up for it as long as I don't lose one in the backcountry. Touchscreen compatibility is better than other gloves I've used. I'm not sure if they use a special fabric treatment to achieve this, and if so, whether it will fade over time, but right out of the box it allows me to do most things on my phone without taking the gloves off. Assuming they prove durable enough, I will buy again when I inevitably lose them out in the sticks."
