"Kept my hands warm in the harsh mountain climate. Fully functional, great product."
Combining a stretch fleece on the back of the hand with conductive fleece on the palm and fingers, the HeavyWeight ScreenTap gloves bring touchscreen functionality to your ski, run, hike or cold-weather commute.
the Black Diamond HeavyWeight ScreenTap gloves are ideal for skiing, trail running or hiking with your smartphone. We started with a warm and stretchy fleece shell, then covered the entire palm with U|R Powered conductive material to allow for gloves-on touchscreen use. Goat leather palm patches offer a secure grip on poles, dog leashes and après beers.

"Kept my hands warm in the harsh mountain climate. Fully functional, great product."
"I cannot express just how poorly designed, terribly fitting, and nearly useless the “new” black diamond heavyweight screentap glove liners are. These are style “BD801805” or “2. 0” with a “split” palm covering and made from an overly stretchy and far too tight material. 1) They now made from some sort of stretch synthetic material more akin to leggings than to typical fleece. They provide almost no insulation. 2) The material, design, and sizing make them far too tight, thus restricting circulation and leaving my hands ice cold, even just driving the car. Larger size was no bigger/wider, they just had longer fingers. 3) The leather-like palm covering is “split. ” This leaves ropes in a climb or holding a ski pole, rubbing directly on the stretch material and not on the palm covering. 4) Lastly, these are so overpriced at nearly $55 dollars and are no better, perhaps even worse, than a $20 pair of gloves at a low end retailer. What makes it worse is that Black Diamond is STILL advertising and selling the older version directly against the new "2. 0" version right here. If you look at the picture of the two versions in the Amazon listing, the $45 dollar pair has the full palm covering while the $55 dollar "2. 0" version has the "split" palm. Yet, no matter how many times I order, no matter how may calls I make to Amazon or directly to Black Diamond, I never get the older style I order, just the useless new "2. 0" style. If I could actually get the older BD801044 style, I would order a dozen pair to make sure I have them for the future For the past decade or more I have used almost exclusively various black diamond liners, most recently the “BD801044” made from typical fleece and having a full palm covering. These are my gloves for every day use in the winter as well in hikes and climbs in all sorts of conditions. Often, I use the black diamond fleece mitten liners as a second layer. These have been so good I have given them as gifts around the holidays. Please, please, please Black Diamond: if you are going to keep your reputation of high-end and quality gear, go back to the older “BD801044” style. This new style is utterly worthless"
"The latest version of the heavyweight screen tap liners have left me literally disappointed in the performance of the product. As a lifelong hiker, backpacker, the mountaineer in all its forms, I have come to rely on BD glove liners for at least the past decade everywhere from daily homeuse to extreme conditions in the white mountains, where I usually combine them with the fleece mitten liner. I’ve given away many of these as holiday gifts extolling their virtues. This is especially true for their last style #801044. This kept me warm. allowed me to function for those small tasks such as tying the shoelace or tying off of belay. It felt comfortable and snug without being constricting. In fact I usually wear a medium but have a pair of large which I combine with an underlying propylene thin liner for extreme conditions. I certainly have used this every day in the extremely cold and snowy weather we’ve had here in the northeast for the past month with no issues. However try as I might, the new style #801805, seems to squeeze my hand so tight, even with increasing glove size to a large, and provides no warmth. It is too bulky to wear in conjunction with the fleece liner mitts and yet too tight to use poly propylene liner below it. Simply driving in the car yesterday my hands were ice cubes by the time I reached my 10 or 15 minutes destination. Additionally the placement of the synthetic“leather“ on the palm doesn’t cover fully and in fact if I was using a rope it would be rubbing directly against the glove. Where as in the older style it is a straightforward full leather palm. So something that I have relied on in all sorts of conditions from daily use to near white out conditions in the presidential range in the white mountains, will now have to be kicked to the curb as it does not even provide its basic function. Please I beg of you bring back the solidly constructed and designed style 801044 fleece liner glove that provides warmth, comfortable layering, function, and works like a champ. The old style with full palm coverage is the first picture the new useless style is this"
"When I first put these on, they felt way too small. After a few uses I got used to the fit and now I think they are awesome. These gloves are great for anything high effort where a beefier glove would soak with sweat. Also super tactile and the phone screen thing is a bonus."
"Very comfortable gloves and well built materials. I wouldn’t wear these sub-freezing but will be perfect for shoulder seaon!"
"Works as advertised - perfect for a lot of my hikes here in Ecuador >12k feet. Have bought some waterproof covers for light rain, as these wet out relatively quickly (do not blame - this is not designed for heavy weather)."
"I love the midweight gloves, thought I'd try the heavyweight, as others have said, they are too stiff, dexterity is nice, but takes considerably more effort to close fingers"
"These are nice and warm"
"These gloves feel warm and fit as they should. Well made and at a good price."
"These will be great underneath my mittens. They seem warm and well-constructed. I also bought the lightweight model for temperature and fit flexibility."
