Optimized for packability and quick deployment, the Expedition Compactor Ski Poles feature an aluminum construction, a z-pole design, and the same extended foam grips as the rest of the Expedition line.
Flick Lock locking mechanisms make the length easy to fine-tune, and both a PH3 screwdriver bit and a 1.5mm hex bit are hidden in the shafts for field repairs in a pinch. Extended EVA foam grips, a straight-edge grip scraper, and a tactile rubber “beak” for quick binding adjustments on the skin track all contribute to the simple yet useful feature-set of the newly redesigned Expedition grips. Girth-hitched straps are easy to remove if you choose.

"This was definitely user error, but I got the snow attachments cross threaded and it was a PAIN to fix. push down harder than you think necessary to get those suckers on."
"I bought these for ski powered paragliding, with a skin in, ideally a flight down with the poles in a pack, and optionally with a ski down if the air doesn't cooperate. They break down nice and small. Less stiff than a 2 piece pole, but totally adequate for average back country skiing. Being able to adjust the cable tension on the fly is awesome."

Stand straight and bend your elbow at 90°. Measure the distance from your fist to the ground, then add about 2 inches to account for the pole tip that extends beyond the powder basket.
