Awesome shovel!

"I did A LOT of research on these types of shovels. This evac series was the best overall for design by far. Being able to convert it to the "Hoe" mode was one of the best features. I can move a bunch of snow quickly around stuck sleds. It also had the longest extendable length given that I'm taller that was important. Packs down great too. Have these in all my sleds and portable fish houses."

Great shovel

"Baller shovel. Great features, seems sturdy, but haven’t tested it yet. Large surface area for the blade and ergonomic handle. Can’t wait to bring it to the snow."

Brycen U. (5/5)

It works

"Unlike most of the teaspoon sized avalanche shovels on the market that are rarely used for anything more than getting a vehicle out of a plowed in parking spot, this is the shovel you want when you need to move a lot of snow. LZ building- no problem. More than one snow pit a year-no problem. Deep burial practice no problem. The redesign of the shovel itself to allow quick assembly in hoe mode or normal mode works great. The blade and the handle will not fit in the dedicated snow safety pocket of some packs so check that before you commit to the Evac 9. The Evac 7 will fit better in most packs. I expect to use my shovel on most outings, this is the one I choose."

Love this

"I was worried about how big this is compared to other shovels but it’s small enough to fit in my vest pack and big enough to dig fast in case of emergency to dig people out. Love the hoe feature too, I can see how this will be super useful!"

Super Sturdy Shovel

"This thing is a work horse. It comes in my pack ski touring in the BC but also lives in my car all winter when not in use. There is ZERO give in the assembly and the hoe-mode is way more useful than i expected. Thankfully, I have not needed to use this to dig anyone out yet but I did end up using the chop thick ice off of my driveway and it worked phenomenally. It is quite large so it may not fit in every pack but it is a very worthy investment. If you have a small pack I'd recommend the Evac 7"

Excellent design and build quality.

"Excellent design and build quality. Assembles seamlessly in both a scoop and hoe configuration. Lightweight but sturdy. Handle extends to provide a reasonable amount of leverage for such a packable shovel. I have one in each vehicle in the winter and stuff them in my avy pack when headed out in the backcountry."

Timothy S. (5/5)

Monster shovel

"This thing is giant but still fits in a day pack. Boy does this though move some snow. Love that it also has the hoe mode."

Dennis B. (5/5)

Light and strong

"Great for snow camping and as a constant companion when the roads are icy."

Jeffery G. (5/5)

Outdoor boys shovel

"Bought it, used it, and I very much love it. It is durable, light, and handy. Found this from the outdoor boys, you guys should totally reach out and sponsor him!"

Jacob (5/5)

Industry’s BEST Shovel

"This is truly the industry’s best shovel, hands down. Hands on?! As a professional avalanche instructor, we have validated this claim for YEARS. We won’t recommend anything else."
