Reviews

Fit and function is great

"Perfect for a short-medium day hike, or an extended run. I put a 2L water reservoir inside and it fits perfectly. It fits my z poles, spare jacket, and extra snacks. My phone fits perfectly in the front zipper pocket."

"Does not fit big boys. Quality is good though"

My Go-To Alpine Trail Running Bag

"This is my go-to trail running backpack for the alpine. Superior to my traditional running vests and more comfy / compact than my larger mountaineering packs. Love it. Holds enough for long days out on 14ers here in Ecuador. Only wish there was option for camelpak compatibility, but there are plenty of ways around this. Super comfy for hiking or running - perfect for scrambling and climbing."

Timothy R. (5/5)

No bounce ride while adventuring in the mountains.

"Got this vest a couple weeks ago and have been using it exclusively for my running and fly fishing outings in the San Gabriel mountain here in Southern California. I wanted the no-bounce ride of the running vests I’ve always used in ultras, but with the capability of carrying a bit more gear. The z-pole pocket works great for my 4pc flyrod and the front strap pockets hold a small fly box and my phone. Love the roll top of the main compartment which is roomy enough for an extra layer or two, snacks, etc. Love this thing!"

Chris E. (5/5)

Great oack

"Works well fits nice and distributed weight well."

Daniel L. (5/5)

Shoulder-strap tears easily

"Unfortunately these packs have a design flaw. The shoulder-straps are made of a thin mesh that tears very easily, and all that protects them is a narrow glued-on hem. If the hem ever separates then the rest of the strap will tear all the way through. I've had two of them and they've both failed in the same way. Black Diamond offers a "lifetime" warranty, but apparently they consider that the lifetime of these packs is only two years."

Martin (2/5)

Distance 15 Backpack

"Stable, comfortable, and tough — the vest-style fit keeps bounce down even on scrambles or runs. Fifteen liters is just right for layers, food, and alpine gear, though the chest pockets are tight and it’s more water-resistant than waterproof. Great choice if you want a fast, durable pack that can handle big mountain days."

James N. (5/5)

The only day pack you need

"This is by far the best backpack I have owned for day hikes. It can easily hold a water bladder, rain pants, jacket, and lunch. Plus you can put additional water flasks up front if you want to. Its snug fit is really comfortable and I like not having a hip/waist strap—it isn’t necessary at all. The top closure is a little finicky if the bag isn’t stuffed full, but not a huge issue. It’s simple and minimalist, but don’t let that fool you."

Aaron G. (5/5)

VERY short life span. Look elsewhere.

"Loved the pack for 2 months but then started developing holes in the front pockets. I have put 1000s of km on my Salomon packs over the course of many years and have never had the same issue. For a comparable but far better product go with the Adv Skin 12 from Salomon."

Cyril T. (1/5)

Sick pack. Perfect size for

"Sick pack. Perfect size for light and fast alpine stuff. Fits good. Doesn't bounce. Like the separate pole pockets."
