No hook design is great
"Easy to install. And the design nearly eliminates the frustrating tendency to hook on things when I'm skiing through the trees. My previous BD baskets hooked things constantly, jerking me around, ripping the pole and sometimes my glove off my hand. These baskets don't seem to have that issue."
Nice replacement baskets with one quirk
"These baskets are pretty similar to the 3 Quarter Indexed baskets, without the indexing tab, of course. They function a little more like Nordic baskets if you've got them lined up correctly, so they create less drag. Frankly, that's only really noticeable on cat tracks or long, mild approaches and you've got decent skinning/skating technique. But if that's you, these are an inexpensive way to get a little bit more efficiency. The baskets are new to me this winter, but I'm seeing no reason to question their durability. Minor quibble: if your poles work with indexed baskets, grab those instead. While the basket doesn't rotate freely (or even that easily), it can still occasionally spin out of alignment, which defeats the advantage of these baskets. It's not hard to plant the pole and give it a quick twist of the wrist to realign things, but it'd be nicer if they didn't move in the first place."
Good but not as awesome as the old Compactor Powder basket.

"This are simple and work exactly as expected. I always struggle to get them to screw onto the pole, but I'm pretty sure thats a me thing not a them thing."
Nice powder basket
"I really like this stupor of basket for steep terrain! With other baskets that are fully round, the basket hits the snow before the pole sticks into the snow, making the pole slide before sticking into the snow. Really annoying and potentially dangerous. RECOMMENDATION: For skiing on steeps, point the cutout part of the basket uphill so when you pole plant in front of you, having the cutout point towards you. For skinning up, rotate the cutout 180 degrees. Works well for me. Also get a few of these as I often loose them when skiing."
