Thanks to the independently floating trigger wires the Camalot Z4 doesn't bend while under tension and retracted, but once placed allows the stem to move, ensuring a placement that stays put and doesn't walk when pulled directionally. The stem on the larger sizes also utilizes dual twisted cable construction which provides uniform flex in all directions, while single cable construction is implemented on smaller sizes to avoid buckling when pulling hard on the trigger and to reduce trigger profile. Featuring a similar head-width as our old Camalot C3 design, but with 4 lobes that are sandblasted for better holding power, the Z4's are not only an upgrade, but are also available in smaller sizes starting from #0, our smallest cam ever made, and ranging to .75, allowing you to dial in the rack, whether you're gunning for a tips crack in the desert, or going light and fast in the Bugs.

". 3 through . 5, easily one of the best cams on the market and even competes with totem cams. The . 75 can be a little floppy but more annoyingly the trigger wires tend to wear out fast. Anything . 2 and below (the single axis cams) work fine but the cam action and floppiness is uninspiring. The . 2 size doesn’t seem to fit in nearly as many spots as a black totem. The . 1 and below seem as good or better than other micro cams to me, although the “sponginess” of the action can be annoying"

"The double axel models are my favorite small cams. I really like the narrow profile, of the . 5, . 4, and . 3, I find they fit in weird pods and pockets better than anything else. I don't love the . 75, as I find in the large size the flexibility is too much with the heavier head and it flops around too much. I don't love the smaller sizes, as 0. 2 and below don't have cam stops and thus don't have any passive strength. The single axel sizes also don't have the smoothest trigger pull compared to other small cams, but I suppose that doesn't matter all that much for holding a fall."
