Great if you have extra
"Great if you have extra biners hangin around that are in good shape…. . The rubber rings are overly tight getting on the rope end carabiner, but I found soapy water aided in working then on."

"These are perfect for replacing old dogbones. I like the small size of the dynex."
"I bought these to replace the dogbones on some quickdraws that are at their retirement age. These are light and I'm sure they will work well. But I ran into trouble trying to put them on the carabiners. The rubber inserts that are supposed to keep the bottom carabiner from spinning were so tight that several of them broke while I was assembling them. I guess it's not really a safety issue, just a convenience issue."
"This is the second time I have re-equipped my selection of draws with these Dynex Dogbones. They are super light and great for those long routes where every ounce counts. I bought a bunch of these 12cm draws as well as the 16cm draws. They are the best I've ever used. I like them a lot better than the stiffer draws I have used in the past."
"These are a great way to lessen the environmental impact of replacing dogbones that have become frayed or aged out of service. Kudos to BD for selling spare parts rather than sending good carabiners to a landfill. p. s. The date tags are now sewn on the inside of the dogbone which greatly improves handling."
"The "straitjacket" rubber gasket is too small and tight to use with BD carabiners. It's weak and cheap. Mine broke in my hands while trying to insert a carabiner. The dog one itself will still work fine, but now it'll have two floppy ends. Not ideal. I expected better from BD."
"A little effort required to put on, but an excellent replacement for old dogbones."
"Used these to renew some older gear. Great quality and a great option to restore confidence."
"Easy to replace. Needed some elbow grease to get the rubber retainer to the bottom of the biner but not too bad."
"I had no idea that black diamond makes dog bones! So imagine my surprise when scrolling around the site and I found these babies! My dog was hesitant at first but now he Carrie’s it around proudly every time I come home! While the shape and material are a little unorthodox, he doesn’t seem to mind. I borrowed one of them to connect some carabiners together for some sport climbing and they even work great for that! DOUBLE USE!!! These things are AWESOME!!! Just kidding… DO NOT let your dog have these. That could actually be really bad… The above statements are a joke. As lightweight draws though, they are light, strong, easy to use, and work well."
