Solid compared to older models!

"Spent many months in the field with the older Mega Bug models and was pleasantly surprised by the updated floor and zipper design, the floor is a bit higher and keeps water out well. Stake connections points were simplified and reinforced. Works well with older Mega Mid fly."

Nice addition to the mega mid

"Where we live, it’s rare that the mega mid alone gets the job done (bugs!) so this is a welcome addition. That said, this is a little lighter than we’d like (and significantly heavier than the Big Agnes version of the same - though buyer be ware, the Big Agnes version is not a great swap as the doors open on opposing sides making use tricky). This works great, leaves ample room, and doesn’t take away much space from the mega mid."

Bug Net Insert for the Mega Mid

"This is now the bug net you need for the Mega Mid tents. It seems fine, but the mega mid itself seems to really have gone downhill. I've spent literal years of my life sleeping in Black Diamond Mega Mid tents, and I used to absolutely swear by them. Now, it kind of seems like the stretch out and warp weirdly, and are just not as durable as before. The fabric doesn't seem better, the zipper doesn't seem better, the construction doesn't seem better, so I'm not sure why they updated the design. I'm currently looking at other, similar styles from different companies"

Great Tent!

"The Black Diamond Mega Bug 4P is a fantastic tent and pairs perfectly with the Mega Light 4P tent. The one issue is that it has different dimensions than the previous version and they cannot be switched out easily. It would have been better if they kept the size the same."

The super roomy megabug

"I purchased the mega bug and mega lite to use with my wife and son on canoe trips and backpacking adventures. The two pieces can be used separately or together. We love how roomy the whole setup is! The only improvement I'd ask for are some more pockets on the inside of the mega bug."

Up to the task in Zambia!

"I used this bug tent inside my Mega Light for 10 days of running the Zambezi. Slept soundly with the peace of mind that critters and crawlers would stay outside. Even survived a minor 0300 flood event when I had to wake up and drag everything uphill, with some gear still inside! Worth the long-awaited back order!"

Great Addition

"We went with the Mega Light and Mega Bug when we needed a four person tent for a recent family trip to Yellowstone (2 adults and 2 kids). The bug insert performed really well. With used with the Mega Light there are some tricks to staking it out so that the netting does not get wet with condensation over night and can be packed dry from underneath. Keep some tension on the tie outs and use a rock or small stick to ensure that the Bug basin/netting tie outs are at ground level and that the tent tie outs are at the top of the stake (separated by about 6 cm). This will make sense the first time you pitch the tent."

An addition that pairs well with a mid

"If you're a fan of mega mids, but you're going to be in wet climate like the Appalachians, Cascades, or Alaska then this is the perfect pair. Keep the light weight and ease of set up but you have a floor for the mud and a net for the mosquitos"

Nice Insert for the Mega Light!

"Got the mega bug to compliment our mega light for when the family travels. Helps with keeping the bugs out, especially when we're keeping the mega light open for venting. Helps provide that basic in between when you're coming from a regular tent back ground. Looking forward to using it more!"
