BLACK DIAMOND HAS AND CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY AND THEIR RIGHT TO BE – BOTH IN THE OUTDOORS AND BEYOND.

Over the years, we have supported events and organizations that celebrate and expand queer identities. Black Diamond believes the sports we serve are for everyone, no matter your gender identity, and we work with partners and organizations to help make the outdoors more inclusive and accessible. Whether you are at the crag, on the trail, or on the skin track, know you belong.

Black Diamond proudly supports the following initiatives to help make the outdoors a more accessible place for all.

ALL OF THE ABOVE TRAIL RACE

With the Venture Out Project, Black Diamond helped create and continues to sponsor the All of the Above Trail Race, a race with no gender box in registration.

Open to LGBTQ+ folks and allies, the race is a celebration of sport and inclusivity.

MILES TO GO FILM

In 2022 Black Diamond produced Miles to Go, a film looking into the world of trail running seen through the eyes of a group of transgender men who found the freedom to be themselves on the trail.

THE VENTURE OUT PROJECT

Black Diamond launched a line of queer designed climbing gear in collaboration with the Venture Out Project. The marketing effort was modeled, shot, and produced by members of the LGBTQ+ community. Proceeds of sales went to the Venture Out Project.

SALT LAKE AREA QUEER CLIMBERS (SLAQC)

In our hometown of Salt Lake City, Black Diamond supports the local LGBTQ+ affinity group, the Salt Lake Area Queer Climbers (SLAQC), through fundraisers, events, and trips.

As part of our continued support, this year Black Diamond is highlighting and supporting the Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit for LGBTQ+ young people.
