JACOPO LARCHER
Jacopo Larcher is an Italian climber from Bolzano, Italy, who grew up surrounded by the mountains of South Tyrol. He started climbing when he was just 10 years old and immediately fell in love with the sense of freedom it brought. He spent much of his early years competing indoors, but by 2011, he decided to shift his focus to outdoor climbing, seeking more adventure and driven by the desire to travel and experience new places and cultures. Over time, he explored many different types of climbing, but trad and big wall climbing eventually became his main passions.
Throughout the years, Jacopo has traveled the world, taking on everything from big wall climbs in Yosemite to remote mountains in Pakistan, often alongside his partner Babsi Zangerl. Together, they've tackled iconic routes like free ascents on El Capitan and the "Eternal Flame" on Nameless Tower. One of his proudest achievements was the first ascent of the trad climb "Tribe" in Cadarese, Italy—a journey that taught him a lot and holds a special place in his heart.
Jacopo’s always on the lookout for new challenges, and he finds motivation in switching between different climbing styles and sports. When he’s not climbing, he works as an international route setter and enjoys flying his paraglider, skiing, or taking photos. He’s based in Austria since 2008.
