What customers are saying

★ 4.1 · 22 reviews

Reviewers like how light, comfortable and breathable these pants are, with a fit closer to regular pants than a bulky shell, plus useful vents and a beacon pocket, and most use them for resort skiing. Durability is mixed: about four say they are solid and holding up over multiple seasons, while three had a waist button break, a seam rip or front pocket seams tear early. Waterproofing is mostly praised, though one found water collecting in the pockets in rain, and fit is mixed, with some finding them roomy and past owners saying the newer version runs tighter.

Best Ski Pants

"This is my second pair of recon stretch, ski pants, I can only very positive things about these. I’ve used them for the past two seasons now, they’re holding up great! They keep me nice and warm, and when I get too hot large vents on either side help me cool off. If you are looking for a pant that’s durable, waterproof and can handle those hard charging days. This is it."

Great pants!

"Comfy, soft and fresh feeling, size felt ok, pockets are very useful and the DVA slot is great"

Perfect and Great Color

"Fits perfectly. Small fits like a 30 waist. Fantastic quality overall."

— Peter S. (5/5)

Super light pants that feel

"Super light pants that feel awesome. Fit is great - like regular pants, not the bulky or limiting feel of other snow pants. Can't wait to get on the mountain with them!"

Not same sizing

"This is my 3rd pair of these pants. I am a ski patroller, and I get about 3 seasons out of these pants. They stretch, which is nice, and hold up well. I am 6’3” and have always gotten the same size, large. This time around, they shortened the inseam and tightened up the waist. I couldn’t wear them, and couldn’t return as I had pulled the tags off. Had to give them away. Be cautious- the sizing is smaller than before."

as expected

"Fits as expected thought it would be a little more stretchy though"

All you need

"These pants are great. I’m 6’2”, 195, 36” waist and 32” inseam - XL are perfect. I have room to move and I am loving it. Large pants are way too restrictive. I like the pockets, and the materials feel great. These pants are all I’ll ever buy"

Decent pants that have some short-comings.

"I love the cut and fit of the Dawn Patrol but the Recon comes up a little short for touring. 1) While carrying a transceiver in one pocket and some food in the other, the pants have a tendency to slip down unless I sinch up with a tight belt. The Dawn Patrol has suspenders that solves this problem. I had to create attachments to the belt loops to use some after-market suspenders. 2) The Dawn patrol has an extra pocket which is really helpful for carrying things like keys of a knife. The Recon does not have this feature although the two large pockets are functional. 3) The pants of the Recon are too baggy, especially at the bottom, and tends to catch on branches, etc. The Recon works well for lift-assist skiing."

Great, but tight

"Good quality. Solid and durable. However, the fit is quite tight, even in size Large (6'2", 230 lbs)."

— Thierry G. (4/5)

Conception default that impact waterproofing

"Great pants in terms of material, comfort, and features, but there’s a design flaw that affects the waterproofing. In rainy conditions, the pockets fill with water because the gusset isn't sealed; water just leaks right in."
