"Got these tools to use in some decent waterfall ice. Ended up being stuck in some mixed climbing as well as the ice got scarce in some sections. I didn’t think it would do so well, but it did a dang good job. Honestly it felt so secure in every placement, I was very impressed. When it came to precise placements, it did well being sensitive. When it came to crumbly ice, it stuck deep and did a phenomenal job."
"I have at least tried them all. Climbing on cold, hard ice to snow cone. . . absolutely love them. Confidence on steep vertical ice to overhanging. Hook very well! Grip fits my hand. Love that you can strip them down to be lightweight and when you add weight back you get better sticks without the tool feeling heavy or off balance. The picks seem to last forever! Great job on this one!"
"These feel great in the hand and slice through ice! I also love the ability to modify them as needed!"
"Great ice tool that will become your workhorse. Great on steep ice and mixed as well as lower angle terrain. Ice tool really penetrates the ice with the medium pick weights."
"I've climbed with these a couple weekends now and couldn't be more pleased. These feel similar to Petzl Nomics but are better suited for my smaller hands."
"swings and sticks like a dream. I live in bozeman, MT and have been swinging these on WI2-5 plus a little mixed and dry tooling. they are good enough to drytool on for sure but no other tool swings and sticks in steep ice like these"
"I love the swing on this ice tool. Great weight and balance while still being lightweight."
"While the cobra was pretty good for pure ice these are by far the best tool I've had from BD since the first swing i made. I've had just about every tool BD as made except their first reactor tool, I even had some X15's made by Chouinard. Nice swing!"
"I am thoroughly impressed with the ergonomics and swing mechanics of these Ice tools. Out of the box they initially seemed very heavy but on the ice they really don’t feel that way. They have a solid hand feel, and provide great feedback to good and or bad placement - these left me with no question. After using various CAMP and Grivel tools as a comparison, I’m very stoked about my purchase"
"Love these ice tools. Only wish they came with an adz attachment instead of an after purchase. Great for steep ice and mountaineering"
