Featuring a dry treated core and sheath that protects it from the inside out against moisture and a 1X1 weave construction to lengthen the ropes’ lifespan and make it more abrasion-resistant, the 9.2 is certified for use as single rope. With its svelte diameter, triple dash middle marker that’s easy to see for an added margin of safety and a handling that knots easily and feeds smoothly through your belay device, the BD 9.2 is built for pushing your limits on stone.

Rope unsafe to use after 2 weeks of use

"Strongly, strongly recommend avoiding this rope. I bought the 80m specifically to do long rappels whilst travelling the US. Like other people who have left reviews, I immediately had problems with kinking. After roughly 2 weeks of use a spot near the centre of the rope had the sheath twisted so badly that the core was starting to be exposed. The core itself was so distorted that the rope was visibly bent and spongey. When folded there was a sharp right angle, suggesting the beginnings of a core shot. We noticed this whilst rappelling on a multipitch we had taken no falls on. I submitted all of this info to BD who dismissed it as the rope having bent due to being rappelled on but this is impossible as I always rappelled with a tag line and it was near the centre of the rope. I have not been able to get another response from them. Hugely disappointed, was not a small investment and I only got 2 weeks of use out of it. Please do better BD."

Best rope ever

"Best rope I've had in ten years: very durable, smooth but no issue staying tied, great diameter, ties knots easy and it looks fantastic. Almost no wear in 70 pitches. I don't know how they've done it."

Second time buying this rope

"I bought this rope 4 years ago and it served me oh so well. I since have cut that one down to a 60 meter and wanted to replace my 80 meter."

Montana R. (5/5)

Excellent rope

"Retains the flexibility after some usage, fairly durable few days out. Out of the box there were no pigtails, pretty similar profile to the mammuts I have been using, which is high praise"

Pushkar D. (5/5)

So far so good

"Had a bit of a twisting issue but likely due more to the route and anchors than an intrinsic issue with the rope. Hope to get a lot of great climbs with this"
