The 90-lumen Black Diamond Spot Headlamp is the light to have when you can only have one. Whether you're cooking up some grub after a long day on the trail or spotting anchors on an after-dark rappelling epic, this compact, super-bright headlamp features multiple modes that are customizable to any lighting situation. Red SinglePower LEDs provide proximity lighting without cycling through the white mode, so you won't accidentally compromise night vision. A lock mode prevents accidental battery drain in your pack or while stored, and a 3-level power meter means you'll never be caught with a dead headlamp hours from camp.

  • 1 TriplePower LED, 2 SinglePower white LEDs and 2 SinglePower red LEDs emit 90 lumens (max setting)
  • Red night vision mode has proximity and strobe settings, and activates without cycling through the white mode
  • Sleek, low profile design uses 3 AAA batteries
  • Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night vision and lockout
  • Three-level power meter shows remaining battery life for 3 seconds after switching on headlamp
  • Protected against splashing or sprayed water from any angle (IPX 4)

How To Use The Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 33 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great light and very bright Very bright light. Many other campers wish they would have bought a Black Diamond, as mine was superior to theirs. The dimming feature was also nice, used it quite a few times. I'm a customer forever. July 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great battery life and brightness options! I've used this headlamp for over 100 days in the field working as an outdoor instructor. I really appreciate the adjustable brightness which allows me to maximize my battery life when I am in the backcountry for several weeks. The spotlight is unbelievably bright and was super helpful in illuminating the far side of the river bank to find a campsite while canoeing the Green River in Utah. It also does the job when searching for a late night decent route on 3/4th class terrain when you need to see far ahead and below you. The red light is a nice bonus for saving your night vision when you are looking at stars and wanting to check out a star chart intermittently. (Great when you are working with students or kids!) Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Headlamp I use this a lot for work in SAR and camping. The lighting features (dimming, Red LED) are a nice touch. The light puts out for a good distance out so I can ride my bike at night and the red LED lets me use it for reading at night. Excellent pricing for what you get. Fairly durable as well, dropped mine a few times and its still running smooth. July 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Light Great overall headlamp. The focused setting lights up the night and the diffuse setting is perfect for hiking. The red LEDs work well when it is very dark. Well built and light enough to stay in place while hiking. Reasonably priced as a year old model. July 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Headlamp An on-line review steered me to this model. The day after receiving my headlamp from Black Diamond, I put it to use when crawling through an attic to look at an AC unit. It worked out so well, I turned off the attic lights as they weren't useful for the task. The light weight and elastic headband made if comfortable to wear without concern of it falling off. The product comes pre-packaged with three AAA batteries so you can start using the light immediately. The dimming feature is great and the controls are easy to use. My only suggestion would be to simplify the packaging as I had to mangle it to get the headlamp out. July 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect product. Awesome convenient headlamp; the quality of light is really good; there are also different modes that lighten more or less depending your needs, fully happy about it! July 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple, effective and reasonably priced Bought this for hiking out from the crag and other miscellaneous tasks. It does everything I need it too and didn't break the bank. I ended up coming off the river kayaking well after dark (unexpectedly) and I used it to both navigate fallen trees on the river and find my way out. Fantastic light. The dimming feature is fantastic. July 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Almost Perfect I absolutely love this headlamp, but it's not prefect; It's almost perfect. The light's quality is great, the light moves up and down for easily control, the design is sturdy, it comes in good colors, but I'm not a fan of the button. There is one button to control all settings, and you use different quick-succession taps and holds to move between them. But this poses two problems: 1. You need to memorize the different ones (ok, so it's only like 5 things, but still, you might want to practice with it a couple times first). Chances are you're using this headlamp because you're camping or climbing or just need your hands free. It's not like you can carry the slip of paper while you're in the middle of something you need it for. 2. The quick-succession ones are tricky. I've got nimble fingers, but still have to try it 3 to 4 times before I get the right click. I don't know what people use the strobe for, but it's a cool setting. I'd like to be able to turn it on and off on the first try, not the fourth! So the only thing that I would have preferred would be a separate switch to control red vs white light, and an easier way to control strobe. May 1, 2014
