Now featuring more power than ever, the 90-lumen Black Diamond Spot Headlamp is the light to have when you can only have one. Whether you're cooking up some grub after a long day on the trail or spotting anchors on an after-dark rappelling epic, this compact, super-bright headlamp features multiple modes that are customizable to any lighting situation. Red SinglePower LEDs provide proximity lighting without cycling through the white mode, so you won't accidentally compromise night vision. A lock mode prevents accidental battery drain in your pack or while stored, and a 3-level power meter means you'll never be caught with a dead headlamp hours from camp.

  • 1 TriplePower LED, 2 SinglePower white LEDs and 2 SinglePower red LEDs emit 90 lumens (max setting)
  • Red night vision mode has proximity and strobe settings, and activates without cycling through the white mode
  • Sleek, low profile design uses 3 AAA batteries
  • Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night vision and lockout
  • Three-level power meter shows remaining battery life for 3 seconds after switching on headlamp
  • Protected against splashing or sprayed water from any angle (IPX 4)

How To Use The Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice lights and features I haven't had it out in the elements, yet. But it has come in handy around the house. I like the various light options. Seems like a great product so far. March 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent all-around headlamp I bought this headlamp to replace my old petzyl headlamp. This one has way more features. Love it! February 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for the price. I ordered this light to use when I am walking to and from my hunting stands in the dark. It works great for following the trails and keeps my hands free when I reach the stand so I can climb them safely. February 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fine, except hard to change batteries I bought my spot headlamp in 2011. Just changed the batteries and almost broke the headlamp. No instructions. Really hard to open the battery compartment. I see from other reviews (for 2013 model) that not a thing has been done to correct this problem. It seems strange that this key feature should be so shoddy, when the product is not exactly inexpensive. February 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well designed, excellent quality Got this lamp to replace the BD I had before, and gave away. Very pleased with it so far; have only used it briefly around the homestead, but so far so good. Extremely light, and I like the ability to control brightness. A bit techy for me... lots going on in a small package... but compact, featherweight, and versatile. February 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect gift I bought this for my husband for Christmas. I read lots of great reviews so I ordered it. He absolutely loves it. Highly recommend this to everyone! January 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by decent but inferior to others I buy 4 - 6 headlamps per year, primarily for outdoor sports. The "Spot" is a decent light, but in 2013 it still has the same defects people have complained about all along (I've had several): 1. the battery compartment is hard to open and no instructions in the package, 2. the angle adjustment bracket is still flimsy, fragile and the detent wears out fast, 3. not waterproof at all (despite ixp4 labeling. I was really surprised to buy a new one and see that BD hasn't bothered to improve the product at all. I was not surprised to go to the REI garbage sale and see hundreds of broken BD lights in the scrap bins. A sales person commented "yeah, we get lots of them returned with broken brackets or battery compartment covers..." My [competitor] lights are all superior. December 25, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by dissapointing Had one for three months and it died. Completely corroded out. Apart from that it was good. They said its not meant to be waterproof but all I did was wear it in the rain, I did dry it after. What's the point of a headlamp that cannot handle a little sweat and rain?
