I recently started climbing and looking around at other peoples gear and starting to build up a rack... this was the only thing I saw out there. After climbing for a few months and using this to rappel and belay, I can say that its definitely worth its weight in gold.
Haven't had any trouble braking or using it to belay on my first couple of leads! Overall great product and a must have for any climber.

Great device with several must have features, great for belaying second from top of pitch and awesome as an auto lock device for crevasse rescue.

This is a great device to belay a second. I've had the pleasure of using it to do everything from hauling, rappelling, lowering, in plaquette mode, and atc mode. It is very versatile. I would highly recommend this to any climber wanting to move from top roping to lead climbing and cleaning routes. 5-star

Lighter and more versatile than ever. No rope twisting; belay, lower, or rappel; high or low friction; etc, etc.

Recently I started to step up my climbing game by learning how to lower my climbing partner into a canyon so he could climb a line that I'm not strong enough for - yet.
With this device I was able to securely and confidently lower my climbing buddy into a canyon and then change the system to safely belay from the top of the climb. It was pretty effortless - totally stoked that such a simple gear addition has opened up more opportunities for adventure.
