A new and improved version of our award-winning Impulse ski, the Impulse Ti features an added sheet of Titanal, making them more stable, smoother, and damper while ripping through fresh snow. Built primarily for off-piste terrain, the Impulse Ti shines when the snow gets deep. Just the way we like it.
“Everything we’ve done with this ski is geared toward soft-snow optimization,” says BD Ambassador, and ski hall of famer Mike Hattrup.
Hattrup worked on the development of the Impulse Ti during his time as the Snow Business Unit Director at BD. He explains the direction they took with the design.
“As a brand, we focus on soft snow. We’d much rather be off in the trees, in the chutes, and the bowls, than we would skiing groomers,” he says.
That’s why the Impulse Ti features a long gradual tip, and more taper than a traditional groomer ski.
“If you’re like us and spend most of your time off-piste, you should check out the Impulse Ti,” says Hattrup.
To be sure, the Impulse Ti can do it all. Laps at the resort. Fitness skins. You name it.
But when that 30-inch day hits, you’ve got the perfect weapon lying in wait.
These skis were designed for the deep. Go get ‘em.

"This ain’t your grandpa’s Black Diamond. The new Impulse Ti 104 core has been completely redesigned, breathing new life into this all-mountain powerhouse. The revamped core is a full poplar layup with a sheet of Titanal that extends from tip to tail. Poplar is an exceptionally stiff wood, providing solid torsional rigidity and power for enhanced edge hold."

Reliable control in both powder and firm snow, the skis delivers a good balance between performance and lightness, meaning it's great for resort skiing as well long ascents in search of fun lines, much like a pure freeride ski... Solid in technical terrain, very nimble through medium- and short-radius turns, they're comfortable in both steep couloirs, powder days in the trees and also hold their own in wind crust when the need arises..."

"The Impulse we love, now with Titanal metal. It’s not a full sheet of metal, so the ski is still accessible, but the metal, combined with the dampening layer, provides a fabulous ride, as Katie testifies: “Super easy to ski. On-piste it’s a helluva lot of fun, at speed, razzing around, and it’s also fun in the bumps.” Ffion spent a good amount of time on this ski: “I love how it looks. It’s confident on-piste at speed, with loads of purchase when carving, as well as when using rotation to steer. It handles off-piste, choppy snow insanely well, and doesn’t feel catchy, heavy or super wide. It’s fast edge-to-edge and the added stiffness prevents the tip from flapping.”
