Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great pack, just some bad designing This is the 2nd of two Avalung packs I have. (The Anarchist is my hut pack.) I love the size and some of the features, but there are a few that drive me nuts. The first is the front zipper not going all the way around. By having the zipper up high, the pivot point is above the blade of a shovel in the equipment pocket. So If you ever need to get in the front of your pack, your shovel blade is smashing whatever is in the bottom of your pack. The back panel access is the solution to some of these problems, but is also flawed. It allows great availability to everything in the pack, as long as there is no water reservoir in the pack. Every time I access the back, my reservoir falls out into the pack or onto the snow. There is a clip in the pack to hold a reservoir, but only upright. Could be easily fixed with some type of velcro closeure, but wish there was an external pocket for a water bottle. And just a bummer there is no horizontal board carry. Have to use a different pack altogether if getting a ride on a sled. May 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent All Around Spliboard Pack I have used this pack for everything from casual pow days in the Wasatch to splitboard mountaineering in the Eastern Sierras. The pack is a great all around size. I also really like the pack panel access. The ergoACTIV is also really great when climbing steeper lines, but not the best when you have a snowboard in the vertical carry. The torso length seems to be a little on the long side, but that is just personal preference. May 30, 2013
