I bought these to go with a pair of Carbon Converts. The idea was to keep the weight and bulk down on a light ski with a wide waist. I believe that was achieved but the grip suffers to a point that potentially offsets any benefits. The point at which these skins fail and Ascension Nylons prevail is usually on dicy terrain high on the mountain in wind blasting cold. Plan on packing and keeping ski crampons handy if you are using these. As much as these reduce bulk and glide easy, I am not super likely to buy these again.

Love the suppleness of the skins and the thinner material and lighter weight is also great. So far they climb as well as the other synthetic BD skins and glide better.

These skins are the perfect balance. They are light, they pack down really well, glide better than nylon, climb well, and they don't soak out as much as pure mohair. The tip attachment is low profile and secure. Plus the graphics on the bottom are a good time. Can't go wrong.

by Nicholas Great skins, beware of the larger sizes
These are the best skins on the market for general backcountry skiing use offering a nice medium between traction and glide/packability. Unfortunately for the wider skins the tip loop is significantly narrower than the skins at its maximum width so on many skis that require 125-140 mm skins the tip loops will be too small depending on the shape of your tip. I would recommend a wider tip loop to match the wider skins.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Aaron excellent product
This is my second pair of mohair mix skins. The mix seems like a good combination of grip and glide. They are also much thinner and pack up much smaller than standard synthetic skins. I haven't had much problem with them getting wet and freezing or glopping up, even in the PNW. One complaint is that the tip loops can be a little small for really fat skis. You can usually make it work, but it takes some attention to detail when you put the tip loop on the ski.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mathew I love how packable they are
I've never owned mohair skins let a lone mohair mix. These are the best of both worlds. They climb real well (when others say they don't, I think they need to improve their skinning technique) and they glide well and are so much more packable than nylon skins. I love them.

Just used these for the first time and summited a small peek near my house and the worked awesome. The how to video is great and I had no issues cutting them and fitting them to my skis with little effort. Climbed up about 1500 feet of vertical gain and was really impressed how well they grip the snow and the ice conditions I was faced with. Great skins to add to your winter fun, enjoy and Climb On!

So, I like these skins for a lot of reasons:
-Easy to size and cut
-Soft and supple, folds well and stores in my jacket easily
-Tip and tail attachments work great
-They do glide very well and grip is perfect
-Finally, a very cool design, I like the BDemon or whatever...
Honestly, I have gone through several pairs of skins over the years and the Glidelite Mohair Mix skins are my "go to" tool.
