Light, strong and stiff thanks to its 100% carbon fiber shaft, the Black Diamond Pure Carbon is the ultimate 2-piece touring pole with our FlickLock® Pro adjustability. FlickLock Pro offers dramatically improved clamping force in a low-profile design, and the pole's Touring Series grip and strap provide lightweight, ergonomic comfort.

  • 100% carbon fiber: 16 mm (.63 in) upper and 14 mm (.55 in) lower
  • Touring Series grip with fluted interior for weight reduction
  • Touring Series strap with lightweight webbing and plastic ladder-lock buckle
  • Lightweight grip extension for quick, secure choke-ups
  • 100 mm (4 in) Powder Baskets
  • FlickLock Pro adjustability and security

FlickLock Pro is the evolution of our trusted FlickLock design. The benefits that made our classic FlickLock design the best pole-locking mechanism on the market remain: it’s secure, fast and easy to use. The Pro’s new low-profile, stainless steel design, however, provides a dramatic improvement in quality, feel and clamping force.

Rated 5 out of 5 by love the weight and handle shape; love the removable baskets Product is great. Headliner tells it allllllllllll. March 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great locking mechanisim I had given up on adjustables long ago because of poor locking devices. These are great and having the ability to lengthen the pole makes cruising the flats more like cruising. March 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by good pole but adjustment clip needs work I'm a ski patroller and just got a pair of these after wrecking my last set of carbons. These have been excellent so far - durable and easily adjustable. Much sturdier than other previous BD options in my opinion. One major issue: the new clip design came undone as I was going through some trees/brush, and the pole came apart mid-turn. BD: there needs to be an additional locking mechanism on these things, since an impact from the side can open the clip. February 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by improvement from prior model but could be better Poles are very stiff & light. I overall like the design of the new flicklock, the longer upper shaft and grips but improvements could be made and an issue first day out has me concerned. First day out lower shaft of left pole came out twice while skiing in powder with a firm baselayer. Everything seemed fine on skin up with no slippage. Hopefully its just a matter of adjusting clamp, would have been bad if I was on a slope where I couldn't hike back up. Grip straps are nice but not thought out for XL hands. Extra strap is made to fit under an elastic loop once adjusted properly so it's not flopping around while skiing. When adjusted for XL gloves the extra strap length can't reach the loop but it's still 4"long, major oversight IMO. May need to break out duct tape for new expensive poles! These are replacing 10 y/o life-link carbon poles that gave me zero issues, time will tell if these will last and work as well after adjusting. Overall pretty happy with purchase. January 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Broken in under 15 days Purchased a pair on sale to replace my BD Traverse poles that has lasted me 10 years. I was skeptical of buying carbon, but they were on sale for less then the traverse poles! Initially they seemed great and are definitely light weight. Yesterday while skating across a crosscut one snapped right above the basket. Very disappointing that they broke in less than 15 days of use. I just had to buy a new pair of traverses to replace these. December 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Poles! Lightweight, adjustable, and can take a beating. Carbon doesn't dent like traditional aluminum poles and adjust-ability is great for touring. Flick lock is solid, holds well, and is easy to used while wearing gloves. Resort or backcountry, these are the only poles you'll need. May 30, 2013
