Description

Optimized for long days on route, the Black Diamond Chaos harness is our premier all-day trad climbing harness. The bullhorn-shaped waistbelt features our Kinetic Core ConstructionTM, which uses thin strands of Vectran along the entire harness structure to evenly distribute load and eliminate the need for bulky foam padding. The abrasion-resistant shell material holds up to nasty offwidths and grinder layaways, and the waistbelt's Speed Adjust buckle makes for quick on/off. Four pressure-molded gear loops and a 12 kN-rated haul loop ensure everything you need for a big climb can be properly organized.

  • Pre-threaded Speed Adjust waistbelt buckle
  • Bullhorn-shaped waist built with Kinetic Core Construction
  • 4 pressure-molded gear loops and 12 kN-rated haul loop
  • Adjustable, releasable elastic rear riser
  • Soft, breathable 3D mesh lining and abrasion-resistant shell

Rated 5 out of 5 by My new favorite harness I have used a variety of different styles and makes of harnesses. This one is my new favorite. It is light, comfortable, and disappears on my hips. Most harnesses I am always adjusting this way or that, this one I forget I have on. I am liking the non-buckle leg loops, and I also appreciate that the harness is symmetrical on my hips. I have used harnesses that don't sit very symmetrically and wind up with gear loops in all the wrong places. October 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pretty Sweet I've been using the new Chaos for about 2-3 years now, and I've really enjoyed it. I bought it mostly for long free routes, and it's comfy and lightweight for that purpose. It's also sleek enough for sport climbing or as an all around harness. My only complaint is that it's not the most durable harness I've ever owned, but like climbing ropes, if you use them alot, it's simply something you are going to replace every other season or so. I'm good with that and will likely stick with this one when it's time to re-up. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super comfy Love this good-looking harness, a nice upgrade from my previous (also BD) harness, which saw me through 6 good years. I like that the belt stays doubled back, the gear loops are roomy, and the ventilation in the waistband really allow for comfort on longer, hot days. May 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply perfect That's it. Used it in both rock and ice climbing, this product really fits my expectations. Recommended! May 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Order from Chaos . I bought the BD Chaos Harness as a replacement for a tired old Arc'teryx which it exceeds on most fronts . It has good size gear loops ( still not sure if convinced with the clear cover on these ) an essential 12k rated haul loop . Its light & comfortable & once used to the bright colour scheme looks good . One thing that niggles slightly is that it picks up dirt too easily , despite this a great harness for trad , big mountains , ice & sport climbing . Highly recommend . May 2, 2013
