Hot Forging vs. Cold Forging

We use two different forging methods to build carabiners—hot and cold forging. Each has its benefits and using both allows us to achieve the best possible shape, size and strength for each carabiner’s intended use. HOT FORGING, a process where both the rod stock and forge dies are heated, allows us to “move” the metal, creating more intricate shapes, such as our GridLock and Oz biners.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Basic Biner This is a good biner. Not excellent, but not terrible. If you're looking for an affordable biner to match your color coded cam this is an obvious choice - I only use them to rack my cams - not on runners as the gate seems a little stiff (but sturdy), IMO. The OZ is definitely worth the extra few bucks if you can swing it. The snag free hood pays for itself. November 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by lightweight, color coded, and has a wide variety of uses These carabiners are very light and don't add a great deal of weight to a rack. They are color coded to match cams but I use them for alpine draws with dyneema. This combination is very light and the gates have a very good action. When bought in 6 packs these are fairly affordable. January 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A solid set of carabiners The Neutrinos are nice carabiners, and the colors in this set are much brighter and easier to distinguish than in the product photo. December 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just right for C3's I've never been one to buy something for color, but last time I got some new cams (C3's), I needed some new small biners for 'em and at the time the rackpacks were a little cheaper than buying Neutrinos one at a time (not sure if they still are). In the end, I was stoked to have the colors. I'm used to using silver colored Hotwires on my larger cams, but each size is easier to find as the anodized heads are so much bigger than the colors on the C3's. With the tiny cams, the colored binders seem to help a lot. I prefer the size of Hotwires in general (like on draws), but like Neutrinos on small cams for some reason. For me, not much need for unlockers other than Neutrinos and Hotwires....and in this case the colors are sweet for finding small cams on my harness as I flounder on lead. June 6, 2013
