20 Questions
Describe your climbing background:
I started as a gym rat like most people in Belgium. After a while, my cage wasn’t big enough so I escaped and discovered the real stuff. Slowly my teeth got sharper, my appetite never stopped growing and my prey became bigger and bigger.

Was there a big breakthrough or defining moment for you?
When I mantled out of my mom’s belly.

Describe a memorable climbing experience:
Healing my weaknesses with a full-size pack of Belgian fries before sending the first ascent of a route I named Fritographie!

What are you up to when you’re not climbing?
Jamming, partying, hanging out with HOT babes, sleeping and eating, that’s all!

Any training advice or suggestions?
Keep your motivation high. Do what your heart beats for!

Who or what inspires you?
Santa Clause because he is so strong in chimneys.

How do you see climbing evolving in the next five years?
The future is not on earth but on Jupiter… There, the gravity is so high that 5.10 feels like 5.15! There are so much more challenges out there!

What do you think about the 5.15 grade?
It’s no more than a 5.10 on Jupiter.

Care to comment on: pre-clipping more than one draw on sport routes or pre-placed gear on trad routes, chipping/comfortizing holds, glue vs. no glue?
I am against all of it!! We should lock them all up in steel cages.

Do you have any vices and what are they?
Too Belgian—I need my fries, beers and chocolates.

Any near death experiences?
When I received the bill from all the beers after my last party.

Are you a fan of climbing history? Explain?
Oh yeah! I love to make it.

What are your future plans or goals in climbing?
Earning a lot of money.
