Questions
Describe your climbing background?
I’m
one of the many climbers that were bred in
the climbing gym. I began climbing in Miami, Florida
when I was 15 years old.
The first few years were spent competing in indoor
competitions. Once
I graduated high school, I left the climbing gym
and began boudering and sport climbing on rock.
Eventually I was introduced to traditional climbing
and was extremely inspired to take the skills I
acquired bouldering
and sport climbing to this new found style.
Was there a big breakthrough or defining moment
for you?
The biggest breakthrough I had in climbing
was putting up my first route, the Iron Monkey
(5.14). It
was the first time I realized it is possible to
climb really hard moves above gear. After
this route I got inspired to climb as hard as I
can on traditional routes.
What do you do when you're not climbing?
Well…
Any training advice or suggestions?
Always try
hard.
Who or what inspires you?
There is so much that
inspires me. As for
climbers, individuals that climb in a pure style
always get me psyched.
Anything that really irks you in the
mountains?
Trash… I really hate it when I see
climbers leaving their sh.. everywhere like
it’s a dump.
What's playing on your stereo/iPod
or in your head right now?
Buck 65 and Sage Francis.
Seinfeld or Simpsons?
Simpsons for sure!!
What are your future plans or goals in climbing?
In
2008 I am really psyched to try and dedicate equal
time to bouldering, sport climbing, traditional
climbing and big wall climbing. I want to
attempt to push myself in each stlye.
