Questions
Describe
your skiing background?
Born
and raised in Alberta. Fell in love with the mountains.
Skiied on freestyle ski teams throughout Jr High
and Hight School. Beat ourselves up on the weekends,
sending it into moguels for many years. Travel
to comps, that's was what we did. Once I turned
18 moved to Whistler, lived in a van down by the
river, skiied the summers away. Began to progress
into freeriding and was introduced to my first
freeskiing contest. I guess you could say its been
all down hill from there. Beeing on the World Tour
has been great for me, to push myself mentally
and pysically to become the best I can be. We will
see were all these great days will take me. Hope
somewhere's steep 'n deep!
Was
there a big breakthrough or defining moment
for you?
The first day strapping on skiies. 2nd,
Finnishing High School early and running to the
hills.
What
do you do when you're not skiing?
Love being
out side, rideing the bike, golfing, fishing, hiking,
swiming, dream of heli skiing........ goes on,
veriety is the spice of life.
Any
training advice or suggestions?
Strenght is
key, the stronger you are the faster and bigger
you can go! Cross training is what I like, biking,
hiking and hockey work for me. Hit the gym and
then send it!
Who
or what inspires you?
Powder filled mountains
and endless opportunities to be had, is what keeps
me going. I was inspired at a young age wathching
a Warren Miller film, seeing people getting out
of a heli and shreding the knar. Ever since then
I knew that was what I wanted to do! Live that
dream!
Anything
that really irks you in the mountains, backcountry,
ski hill?
Power of the mountains, it's humbling. You never know. But definitely snow snakes!
What's
playing in your stereo / ipod / head right
now?
Tend to shuffle it up, and it's.........The
Smalls!!!
What
book are you reading right now or read that you
liked?
I started the Lance Armstrong "Its
Not About The Bike". It's amazing what he
has acomplished and gone through in his life. To
be on top of the world one day, to fighting for
his life the next. It shows what determination
will get you. Should get through it next trip.
Seinfeld or Simpsons?
Who am I to judge?
What
are your future plans or goals in skiing?
Continue to ski and see new places. Experience
the world. Have fun with it. Continue to work with
photographers If the opportunity arizes get into
filming and document all these great days while
i'm young. Learn more and develope my mountainering
skills, to play safe and become a old skiier. A
good skiier is an old skiier! Right?
Favorite
place to ski and why?
For resort skiing
would have to say here in Whistler. Plenty of terrain,
lots of snow, great town n people and its Canada
baby! So much unexplored mountains in the area
it's endless. Chamonix would have to be up there
for the knar factor, must go back! Other than that,
any mountain with lots of snow wins. That's what
its all about, getting your daily face shots!
Favorite
people to ski with and why?
Whom ever
is there sharing the experience.
